If it weren’t for the fact that they take those shifts off for games on end…..a little thievery by the goalie once in a while would be welcome too.

True, but I think Ersson is spent, at this point. It would be just as nice, to see the offense put more than three pucks in the net, while getting their typical 35 + shots per game.

That's because the Flyers care more about selling tickets than winning the Cup.  Plus, they've never made the adjustment when the league went to Revenue Sharing & the Salary Cup.  That along with their persistent "win now" attitude keeps them as mediocre.

Exactly. They never even tanked right before the Lindros Era. They were just a bad team, that were fortunate enough to be able to make a huge enough trade, to get him.

  3. I want bonus hockey aka playoffs for this team, but I also realize they're a one and done. Honestly, I would rather they have a chance to win the draft lottery, and be somehow able to pick first. It is so Flyers, that they fight their a*ses off ..only to play for a little over a week, in the playoffs.

Depends is all this only on the players????

Or does Torts just get off scott free??

He doesn't get off scott free, but he isn't the problem. At least he isn't a top three problem, for sure. Their scouting, talent evaluation, AND their prior GM..and what the hell, I'll throw in their ownership (Comcast and maybe slightly Hilferty), Alumni and maybe even Gritty.. are the problem. He's doing a pretty good job with what he has, and I knew he wasn't going to be the best coach for a young hockey team. He has exceeded my expectations with this bunch somewhat, honestly.

Walker had a great year, but trading him was the right move. We're supposed to be rebuilding. They should have traded Seeler too. Among others.

It probably was the right move, and Walker not being here isn't the main reason for the Flyers struggles..by ANY stretch of the imagination. I don't think it's a total coincidence, however, that they've struggled more defensively and offensively since he was traded to the Avs.

I'm hoping they can improve their draft position over remaining games and escape the season without ruining Jamie Drysdale or, since he's here until the aliens come to squash us like bugs, Sean Couturier.

Spectacular. Yours is the Comment Of The Day. 🤣 🏆

also known as, "The day the Flyers were neutered". If more Flyers bytch slapped that little puss, the result wouldve been different

No, it would NOT have been different. The one time we beat the Penguins, we had an almost equal amount of talent. We needed more talent to beat them on a consistent basis (and win CUPS..which is the ultimate goal, isn't it?), not more play like that..which would've gotten Flyers players suspended, and made us into a "goon squad". I want to beat them on the scoreboard.

And to be clear, I'm not advocating firing him, I'm just wondering if he was the right hire in the first place. I'm blame the players 100%, but you can't push them too hard these days...they have too much control.

Tortorella wasn't the right hire to begin with. He works better with a veteran filled roster. That being said, this isn't on him. Yes, you can and should be able to, push the players hard. The players are making a lot of money, should be motivated to improve and if they're not..then the previous GM and our scouts need to share some of the blame, along with those players themselves. If they are too sissy, lazy..or both, to respond to adversity and coaching, maybe hockey and the NHL isn't right for them. I know they're young, but you either have "it", or you don't. If Tortorella gets fired, I'm going to be really p*ssed.
