  1. Thanks spin... I guess I should just keep out my pom poms instead of having an opinion. I'm just shocked that no one remembers the crazy drama with Jagr's groin while he was in the NHL. Was it as bad as Foppa's foot?...no, but honestly, it really wasn't far off if you ask some rags/caps fans. I'm just concerned at his age that it's going to be a long term issue he'll be dealing with. Don't want him traded... didn't say he doesn't score. *done*
  2. I give up... that is a small sample over only a 3-4 year stretch. oh... and he was 7 years younger then. And that's only the times he actually 'missed'... not the games he played at less than 100%, etc. Agree to disagree, but if you're not concerned about a 39 year old player who injures his groin with his history?...
  3. Didn't say he doesn't rack up points... ask any rags or caps fans. His groin is a constant issue. *Points to the many references to groin injuries in this list* And this is only the "reported" incidences... how many did he play through? 2001/10/12Leg injury, day-to-day. 2002/01/11Groin, day-to-day. 2002/01/22Missed 6 games (groin). 2002/11/29Missed 1 game (groin). 2003/01/18Strained groin, left Saturday's game. 2003/11/26Groin, left Wednesday's game (Didn't miss any games). 2004/02/13Groin, day-to-day. 2004/02/19Missed 2 games (groin). http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/teams/players/bio/?id=343 Do you see a pattern anywhere here?
  4. Yowza... gonna take a looong time to forget that one.
  5. Jagr's groin is made of paper maché. I remember him constantly have groin issues while with the rags and caps. I'm surprised this is the first 'flare up' he's had so far. Unfortunately, at his age, I wouldn't be surprised if this was a lingering issue that bugs him all season.
  6. LOL... exactly! What's funny are some of the comments during the video. imo, it's pretty clear the players think it's lame. One of them says "It's obvious that a lot of thought and time went into the design"... WTF?? Is he drunk?
  7. Wow... not my cup of tea. I'm sure there will be some people who like'em but I sure don't. Can't that franchise do anything right for christ's sake?? http://video.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=35&id=135611
  8. It's been great having him on the team so far. Just what the doctor ordered for all these young kids on the team. Shows them how far work ethic can take you. There's no way I'd have bet that he'd have 6 goals at this point either.... just icing on the cake.
  9. He most definitely did not 'help' them win the cup... imo, they won it in spite of him. He kinda showed some positives during the last round, but he was AWFUL for the first few. They definitely did not get much out of him.
  10. I like him too Brel... but then I freakin' hate him at times too! I just wish he'd settle in and stop with the split-personality ****. Sometimes he's got such a mean streak and can one-time the puck like a beast. Then for a few weeks, he'll be timid as a mouse and can't hit the net worth a damn. I just like to remind myself that we traded Zhitnik for him!! Silly Atlanta.
  11. I hate these long layoffs...

    Massive Hit

I think the important thing to remember here is that these are kids... not professionals. That hit was disgusting to me and could've put a kids quality of life in jeopardy.
  14. Well, he's honoring the cheap contract that the Wings originally signed/waived him with. From what I've seen, they've been rotating 3 goalies. Tonight it was Nabokov/Montoya... but I've seen Dipietro on the ice as well. It's the Isles... who knows what the hell they've got going on.
  15. Odd situation they've got there on the "Island"... 3 goalie rotation? Didn't exactly work well for us.
  16. All I know is that 'we' are a 'puck possession' team. And it's hard to be a puck possession team when you're chasing the puck more often than not. Something's gotta change. Either these guys dedicate themselves to get better at draws, or a hired gun has to come in. I'm not too big on having a game 7 defensive zone faceoff in OT with any of these guys at the dot.
  17. Hey... just saying is all... just saying. Are you doubting that this is what'll happen? I seem to remember Primeau being good on faceoffs... what about Roenick? Is this just a "Lavvy" thing?? Maybe having Brind'amour spoiled him and he thinks that faceoffs are just something you have or haven't.
  18. We'll probably look for someone at the Trade Deadline... wondering if Konopka on Ottawa would be available. I think he's on a very cheap contract (800k) and would be available if the Sens are out.
  19. I like that Dynamo. Jackman never really lived up to his rookie year accolades, but he's fairly steady and a crease clearer. I'd do it.
  20. That guy's a complete asshole.... I can't stand Kaleta. He's dirty, only fights smaller guys, and just plain looks like a rat.
