  1. http://bigmouthbarry.com/grossman-and-cousins-for-clifford-and-a-mart/ That’s what I was sent in an e-mail this morning from a pretty respectful Flyers source. Thinking about it… A-Mart reduces Grossman’s 3.5 million cap hit and he’s likely dealt anyway so THAT makes sense. He’s logged an average of 18 minutes during his career and is only 28 years young. Scuderi is 34 and averaged 21 minutes and has the experience of 2 Stanley Cup runs. Grossman has only 27 games of playoff experience. Clifford, as we know, is a Lombardi warrior, but if Scuderi is leaving, Grossman takes his place, makes a nice partner for Doughty AND is signed at a reasonable 3.5 for the next 3 years. We love Clifford but under Sutter, he wasn’t successful on the 1st or 2nd lines and basically saw 4th line duty in the playoffs. In his first three years he’s averaged about 10 minutes of ice time. Will he get better? Will the Kings be able to fill yet ANOTHER LW spot? Nolan would replace his toughness. Cousins would develop in Manchester (which needs players to replace the soon to be departing Cliche as well as the others that will probably make the club next season) – This would be a tough one for Lombardi, but in reality, could better the club. Anyway, chew on that one. More as it develops. Not sure on those players from LA, anyone with inputs on them?
  2. We were excited when they kept losing to get a high draft pick. But they always seem to ruin our party by winning games they shouldn't have at the end of the year.
  3. No wonder why the Flyer rumors stopped lol.
  4. If we trade Coburn for the 6th pick and Jones droop to Nash at 4, would you trade the 6th plus to get Jones? Assuming Avs do what they say and draft Mac, then Panthers take Druin and TB takes Barkov to replace VL.
  5. I would say never? It's the Flyers we talking about here, if they've learned that awhile back we probably won a few Cups already .
  6. We hope he reads it and doesn't make the move because he can't surprise us.
  7. You have to think if you would take that package for a top 6, I know I wouldn't. I can't see how those guys can help a bad team, they are good players but not enough to really help.
  8. http://www.ottawasun.com/2013/06/27/ottawa-sens-gm-bryan-murray-hunting-for-a-deal "The talk is the Ducks want defenceman Braydon Coburn and a No. 1 pick from Philly in exchange for Ryan." I would do this if the 1st is in 2014. I know the draft is here.
  9. Then those owners should fire their gms otherwise they will continue to give out those contracts.
  10. They think we always want big names, which we sometimes do but unfortunately by the time they get them, those guys are over the hill or has beens and are getting ready for retirement. They can say atleast those players suited up for the Flyers in their career.
  11. @Howie58 I see your pov and hope whoever Homer signs is for a 1 year deal. We can see who will be available next year and then make a longterm decision if Mason doesn't work out.
  12. A few offers look ok to me. They are saying Buffalo would retain half of his salary next year. Here's a few proposal, which would interest you? Miller and 16th pick for Read and 11th pick Miller, 8th and 16th for Coots and 11th Read and 41st for Miller Reading in the Sabres forum, there's alot of level headed fans that understand their situation and not overvaluing Miller like most fan base does.
  13. Yea he's been a backup on a few teams, wouldn't want him as a back up plan if Mason falters unless they are planning to tank next year for a top 5 pick.
  14. Read and our 2nd to get back into late 1st? Makes no sense to me, aren't they high on Stolarz(sp). They would probably make it to the NHL at the same time and create a log jam. We need to draft defense!!!!
  15. Because it can become true, we know Homer makes boneheaded moves when it comes to FAs.

  17. @ruxpin Yes it's a name play. I don't think he's a true no.1 goalie, he's someone to get you by til you can get yourself a true starter. Another Marty Biron imo, looking at his stats it does look ok but out of his four years starting for the Ducks they only made the playoffs 1 time. He lost the starting job to another goalie and I don't want that kind of goalie here. Might just be me but I'm tired of seeing us sign OK goalies to get us by, I am not happy atm cause we lost out on the Bernier deal and no goalie in the market right now interest me. Stick with Mason this year and sign a cheap backup, rather then give up valuable assets to get soso goalies that gets us nowhere. See if Crawford or Lundqvist is available next year.
  18. Rimer says the cost would be a 1st, prospect (Coots) and a player. Too much for my liking, his cap hit is high and he's over 30. If this was the Miller from 3-4 years ago I say yes but not now. I think there's something wrong with my browser here, I can't hit enter to go to next line and copying and pasting from another site makes it a triple or more post.
  19. Saw this on HF Board Rimer's Tweet on the matter.... https://twitter.com/JoshRimerHockey Rimer on WGR550 [station out of Buffalo after the tweet discussing what he's hearing....(with estimated worth of Miller) http://audio.wgr550.com/a/77141542/j...rade-ideas.htm
  20. @JackStraw If I remember correctly, he signed with them as a FA after the season ended. We were gonna extend him here but he didn't want to sign so we traded him to Nash rather lose him for nothing.
  21. @doom88 The defense play from AHL guys was better after those NHL guys got hurt. I don't like Hiller at all, rather have Mason and another soso guy to back him up. Wait for next year to see who's available. We just got rid of Stalin, don't need Hitler to replace him.
  22. @JackStraw It's a sad list to read really, more embarrassing to be correct. I wonder if there's any other team that is like us.
  23. The Flyers are no better then the Panthers imo, our defense stinks. Signing with Florida will save him on tax also, I don't see the Flyers winning the Cup until we get better dmans.
