  1. I believe Terry is a sound coach to improve defensively. I think Sami meant the polar opposite in that Lavy is a good offense oriented coach, that's for sure, and in Terry is a very sound defensive coach. In the Playoffs you need good defense style control of the game. I will try to find that quote of the GM saying how he believes the play style of the AHL coaches are going to be in line with what Lavy is doing so that quote "all this here say will be put to rest" unqoute.
  2. An interesting thought brought out was to trade our last year contract players to teams we can get their Defesensive talents for or high draft picks and then resign our players back next season to finish their careers in Philly. That way we pick up talent on D and recoup our players back as with a negotiated lower hit than they where originally at and they can give our young players the ongoing tutelage and grooming. Does that sound too far out there to reach for? All this on stipulation if we weren't going to make the playoffs. During the discovery, we would make a motion upon arriving with said facts to proceed with any new order of business, so their would be an adjoournment until the next rookie camp.
  3. It hurt our outlet passing and uptempo breakouts, but it helped that his turnovers dont end up as our goals against. But for some reason I don't know why Jake picked up that cheerleading stick? Anyone know why? He needs to put down that turnover stick.
  4. @King Knut@xganarchy You get my vote. I see better hockey intelligence right now in street hockey. It's like everybody forgot who everybody is and don't know each other or don't trust themselves as well.
  5. actually the opposite bud. I don't have the quote of I believe the GM talking about how it's going to help the Flyers that Adirondak is on the same page as the Flyers when it comes to systems and such. I don't really have an opinion on this matter, but thought Sami brought up an interesting point. What I brought up about synergy was more in line with what the GM brought up on his statement last year, but I failed to mention that and see how it got misconstrued as my comment. Ya bad read, since I wasn't clear so....Good Read! for following the scent. But your right Coots excelled, Schenner too. Though systems are different so where the competitors. So it's hard to judge with different variables and the fact that the Panthers show'd obvious signs that we showed in other games when we lost. It gets more muddled up when doing comparisons with teams. But for all to remember it's too early in the season to hit the panic button, but in reallity we don't have much time left in this season. So yah we're screw'd whether we like it or not, but so is everyone else in the league. This is where bad/slump Teams will get to be weed out in the short process. Please downt tail Momma!
  6. @canoli Your right about not hitting the panic button. You hit the nail on the head with that comment about conditioning and preperation, losing Jagr actually hurt more than Carle in the develooment side of things. C'mon asking for the keys to the facility isn't a big enough sign of being a Winner, than what is. Goodbye working out after dark. Goodbye focusing on your game even though the game is tommorow. Goodbye working out to improve your conditioning. There is a big hurtle to overcome in this shortended season with no preseason camp and no preseason games. But that's where a professional has to show that they want it, not that it's given to them. Somewhere along the lines the players get lost in translation of what is an amateur and who is a professional. Laziness also has something to do with it. Mental laziness as well.
  7. @Vanflyer No, just that they had the same coaching philosophy....not my words, but what was stated last season, when the GM brought this up I believe, but I'm no official spokesman on this subject, just bringing in my recollection on this matter in regards to the coaching staff. If something is of my opinion, I'll state it as such, otherwise they are posts from the past. Are you a demon?
  8. I think the defense stood still, because they where afraid if they moved, they were gonna be called for a moving screen by the ref.
  9. The Flyers and Phantoms had synergy, but not anymore when they made the coaching change. Very valid point to bring up Sami........................ ahh Sami Hannu Antero Kapanen what a great player. We need a player like that in our team. I hear he was playing with his 16 year old son, how's he doing?
  10. It's time to get unorthodox.....unfortunately we don't have that creativity, or the coaching staff to break free from the Special Teams quagmire. It's apparrent Lavi isn't a specialist coach, but that's what we need to bring in a PK coach and a PP coach and Terry to be a defensive coach, ego's aside. Each coach responsible for their own end...communicating with each other in staff meetings eating Pizza Hut Pizzone's. Have your Pizza pie and eat it too. What's to keep us from that? Staff/contract limitation?
  11. Another thing to look at is someone has to support Timo's shot so that if it gets blocked the other D pairing races back so there is no odd man rush, I think Timo played it somewhat conservative, but he has to shoot the puck more often in a game like Mez does, The more you bomb from the outside the more the other teams D will respect your shot and come out to you; and that's! when you look for the pass or even bank off the boards to a forward down low and a tiny, small, little egg hatches called................................................................................Havoc!
  12. Out of the Woods...He's playing like he did in the dessert...Thirsty for another win.
  13. Subban is worth picks, not players. He will help us, but he will also hurt us. If he's on our team the locker room will be different, if he starts trippin'
  14. Good one...@flyercanuck@doom88 But yah from his previous years before Coffey, he had potential, but the knock on him was his speed. 1st gear was slow. 2nd gear was medium. He improved to medium speed. They couldn't fit a third cog in there.
  15. Ma boys, Ma boys....ya I remember that clinic Lindros pulled on those actors playing footy puck in the corners. I have that tape somewhere in one of my VHS boxes. I see a Lindros (hits wise) in Rinaldo, I like how he knocks them down. I remember when we were being controlled by Jersey last year...enter Rinaldo and the game started to change after his hits. I see why Lavy is a Rinaldo fan....I am too, he needs to pick up his offense, which is what he wanted to do down in the AHL, I like him in the lineup but spending a few month's in the AHL will put him in a primary role where he can grow more into the offensive player he has the potential to be. It's a sacrafice for him, but if you put in the effort and the time to hone skills, you will be rewarded with improvement. Paul Coffey use to spend alot of time after games riding the bike to work on his skating/speed, Chris Therrien took it to heart one summer and came back a faster skater, added another gear to his game. Aint that the truth.
  16. Never Ending Sto oh ryyy, awhh ahh ahh awh, ahh ahh awh, ah ah ah
  17. I think the line of Sesito Wellwood Rinaldo would be KUNG POW enter the fist.......DY NOO MIITE!!
  18. We appreciate your input Polary and a valued posters perspective is what you bring, much respect to you and yours. Now we got our lil' Mario in Claude and his partner Luigi in Jake, Hartnell not to sure, he's no oompa loompa....so he'll just have to park himself by the pipes and score, if he shows his but crack,.. WE HAVE OURSELVES "THE PLUMBER LINE." Anywho...thanks for your input, but Timo being a 5th man.....thats a pretty steep reach "on any team" I get what your saying and your saying it for the good of the team, but that's almost like giving us a B1t(H slap and saying, 'hey wake up!" But I feel ya brah! I feel you.....that was a shock and awe statement, but I feel you... and I know where it's coming from.....deep down inside.......................I can feelitt!
  19. There's still a fly's wing of a chance that things get screw'd up on paperwork (hindsight), and Webby will be a Flyer. A Fly's wing of a chance....
  20. Cooter will be a shooter this new season. More TOI = More PPG. I'm just wondering how many Game Winning Goals he'll have this up coming season as well as B. Schenn. B. Schenn just seems to have a nose for that, though different type of players him and Gagne are, I think they will have that thread in common. Bulieve datt!
  21. @Bertmega Unfortunately as the worm turns, so do people and there bad habits. drop the acid... pickup on chicks.
  22. If you listen carefully to Sean Couturier you hear it in his voice and in his own words that he IS a goal scorer and playmaker, he is Offense. The fact is he's very solid defensively, which we got to see. What we didn't get to see was how talented he IS offensively. Now he is in a position to show more of his offense, I think in doing that his defense might lighten up, due to more of an opportunity to score now, but nowing him he will figure it out, and callibrate himself back so he can be a star in this league. Supposedly he was this frail boy, that wasn't able to make the cut because he was to gimpy and couldn't Play with the Big League Boys....but he did! And he is only getting bigger and stronger. Brayden Schenn...who could of taken the setback after setback after setback to sulk in his dilema of setbacks, having to slowly come back haveing to ReFitt in to the team again and again, having to jump off the train and catch his feet and stay in stride with the team when they where running like a smooth locomotive, to have that intestinal fortitude to believe in yourself and to go out there and produce in front of a large audience who doesn't know you and has questions about you.....and now he has his brother who can motivatingly push him and each other to succeed and for both to improve. Jake Voracek: Was a potential fringe player who had the desire but not a map to show him the way, One thing that I think helped him the most and was possibly the most valuable lesson that was taught and I believe even more important than Girouxe learning from Jagr....was Jake learning from Jagr, it's almost like your about to head to war and it's gonna be real bad, you've come under fire a few times but you know this time it's going to be different and you Know It! Along comes a veteran and sits by you, and you subtle but poignantly take in the hard work and dedication You! need to do to succeed...the next day you awake and see the new day.....Jake will be ready this season. Leino on steriods. Matt Read: We can rebuild him, we have the technology and will make him better.....stronger...... faster....ccchhhhii cccchhiii ccccchhhhiii
  23. We have Bryz and his backup to hold the fort. We have a few prospects on D that could make the team. We're a little more spread out on Forwards, so lines will be formed and have more time gel and tweak. These are the growing pains of our team. ....Do Not Pass GO! and do not collect $200......Yet!, but we are moving in the right direction and not Buying a Cup, we' re Earrrning IT! Show Me That Smile Again.....show me that smmiile!
