  1. The problem is, is that fans and Front Office can get ahead of themselves. Look at 2 years of Ghost first and we would of given him 7yrs/7mill. Then we had the wonder Twins awesome pairing that where our future top 2nd line pairing for many Cups. Look at us now. No Ghost and a Shell of Sanheim and Meyers Duo. We can't jump the gun to dismiss or anoint. York is too soon, now and still next year. We might as well put the Milk Crate Challenge as the defining reasoning on putting our eggs in our basket. #No Bueno
  2. Welcome to Twatterverse, land of the make believe and the believe what you make, whether a human or A.I.
  3. It's just a bunch of caprese word salad to say, hope he does well...
  4. Ya Fletch and other GM's coveted Reesko' and Fletch got to the booth and landed him. Right now I think he has the Sun Pass and should go through all the Tolls. But he's got a heavy load and better hit all his stops. If he delivers @ 80% of expected performance, Risk-Reward will work.
  5. Ristolainen The Dayman Cometh....... Gotta Pay the Troll Toll....
  6. "Philadelphia is my kind of place and my style of play will fit there for sure. I can't wait to start putting guys on their roofs and through the wall" Ristolainen The Nightman Cometh.......
  7. So.............what's the scuttlebutt......?...............
  8. Coots is definitely a flagged concern. He is within his right to get paid G money at the least but the term is where I can see a stand still. Five years is where I see the term eluding to. I think that would be a compromise in term, I could see 9mill/3 years(pay him upfront what he lost from previous contract) and then maybe a 4mill/4 years(to balance out tenure/retirement). Also G should resign for 4mill/4 years next contract if he wants to retire a Flyer. (He got his payday already) Nobody has Nate Thompson on any of the lines. Maybe Allison will stay at AHL till November...
  9. Team should make the playoffs this year and next, small chance to win the Cup. Can be done. Small Chance if players sacrifice and put it all out there. Small Chance Win The Cup. Small Chance. Small. s.
  10. One thing I appreciate about Fletcher materialized when I heard his interview in Snow the Goalie. Fletcher punched his classmate back in the day when the kid said his dad sucked, he punched the kid and defended his actions. He didn't back down on why he did it. Fletcher wanted to make the Flyers tougher to play against and I know the cost was up there, but the results could be well worth it.
  11. I think the Flyers are gunna be funnererr this coming season.
  12. Bring back the Bullies. Pencil Cam Atkins with three fights this season, the juice in Philly will be strong this year.
  13. https://www.nbcsports.com/philadelphia/flyers/flyers-re-sign-samuel-morin-1-year-contract Samuel Morin said he felt he was meant to be a Flyer. On Monday, he stayed a Flyer. The club re-signed Morin to a one-year, $750,000 contract extension. The 6-foot-6 defenseman was set to hit unrestricted free agency, which opens Wednesday at noon ET. Morin, a 2013 first-round draft pick, played a career-high 20 games last season. He started 2020-21 with a switch to left winger, but eventually moved back to defense and fared well. Injuries, including a pair of torn ACLs, limited him to nine combined games over the previous four seasons. The 26-year-old Morin is expected to battle with Cam York and other depth candidates for a spot in the Flyers' season-opening lineup. The club's defense has been reshaped with the additions of Ryan Ellis and Rasmus Ristolainen, along with the trades of Shayne Gostisbehere, Philippe Myers and Robert Hagg. "The stuff I bring, I don't think a lot of guys bring it in this organization; it's kind of pretty rare now," Morin said in May at his end-of-the-season press conference. "I think I'm probably one of the toughest guys in the league, to be honest. Next year, we're going to play those big boys in the West and I'm kind of ready to prove it. I think I can bring something that no one here can bring. ... I feel I'm a Flyer." Bring me the Twin Towers of Doom....do it...do it.
  14. At first glance this looks bad...very bad, at second look it feels boo'd, very boo'd. We're at a crossroads again. The team put themselves in it again. When we got Niskanin and Braun and brought in Pitlick and crew many of us where also bothered by Chuck's Choices and I was one who was concerned highly as well. I understood the GM's thinking on why he did it but thought he overpayed back then. Same as today. Fletch overpaid this time around but unfortunately he was cornered in his mind and that's when he gets into cap/asset problems. If the team played like pre-covid he wouldn't feel the need to go extreme makeover channel. The Nisky retirement hurt his flowchart. That coupled with team defense is suck forced his hand to change the team dynamic. Jake has talent but his demeanor unfortunately might have been the problem, same I feel with Ghost, another talent but maybe their attitude wasn't conducive to what the team culture Fletcher/AV envisions. I think Ellis and Risto where needed pickups according to what Fletcher/AV want on the ice. Players that are hard to play against add Atkinson to that mix also. Which is why they still wanted Laughton. If they could lace up five Bruce Willis' they would do it. Yippee Ki Yaa motha sucka. I believe this year the Flyers will be harder to play against. Team toughness got addressed. We have a shoot first winger added to the top pairings, who kills penalties and oh my don't you pair him in the PK with Hayesee(our shorthanded time might seem like our powerplay with those on the PK). Our top line defensive pairing has been restored and stabilized. I think if Braun is still on our team, pair him with Sanheim and bring and form the Twin Towers of Doom(Morin/Risto) to activate! Form of a sledge hammer; shape of an ice pick. We might see the reemergence of the Philly Flu were even the "jab" won't alleviate the danger.
  15. Just for clarity in regards to Ghost clearing wavers. You don't acquire 4.5@2 year assets in the middle of a flat cap world year and following year AND Expansion Draft year "and" RFA/UFA year "and" what players are still healthy "and" the roster space/max signed players needed {Year In Business} Playoff [Hockey Operations] It's easy to view life from the perspective of a groundhog, but GM's are viewing things perched up from an eagles nest....
  16. Unless there is something in the works we don't know about.... This was a terrible use of assets and picks. We needed our 2nd round pick and assets(mostly picks) to use to get a sniper back, if we are trading Jake and a second for a sniper than now our first most likely has to be involved, where as are second was the turn in chip. We still had the Entry level draft to trade Ghost as we could of used him to trade down our pick to a team, that had some cap space. Ghost wasn't a direct cap issue just yet and at two years left wasn't a long contract to let go at trade deadline. Again unless something else is about to happen that is a lock, you don't get rid of things for free and hope your ready for what's to come(Example: like a wife convincing you to get rid of your smoker, vehicle trailer, wet bar and tool shed to make space for a outdoor gathering, that then never happens), especially as I think Ghost has value(Elite Power Play "Shortstop"/Point Man, Man Advantage weapon, can play top 4 D) and I liked Ghost and would of liked him on the third line with Morin this year, instead of Braun. I don't like the idea of putting York with those high expectations just yet. He should stay one more year in the AHL to be in all situations - top minutes, to not be on the Flyers prematurely and throw off his development and valuable leadership experience he can curate in. This is where Chuck needs to stay away from, getting yourself cornered in, in your head. This was more a panic move trade than anything if standing on its own.
  17. We will make the playoffs and win several rounds now that we have the mystery bauble new assistant coach.
  18. It might be a combination of his youth jersey? At first it looked perplexing but right after it reminded me of a Nascar race number(Ellis/Elliott) and to see it in home Team black with that number; him racing down the ice with that number, is gonna be bringing good vibes this season. On front crease toughness? I saw Morin clearing the front crease at times on his shift, but "mhorr" important I saw him thinking the game while he was doing it. Man it's too bad Myers wouldn't venture down that path before the whistle blew. He was solid after the whistle in clearing the porch, just needed to do it more often between whistles. Morin does it both ways and is willing to throw down...man wish Myers was more like that but seemed to be leaving that type of game and became what he was last year. Ya it sucks to see him go, but who was he gonna end up being(question mark). Ellis be what he gonna be....now. Sad we lost our second overall pick[AGAIN]. Watch us get him back after he spends his Jumanji Jungle childhood(Robin Williams) elsewhere in Sin City.
  19. Posted 20 hours ago https://www.crossingbroad.com/2021/07/after-adding-ryan-ellis-is-vladimir-tarasenko-next-on-flyers-gm-chuck-fletchers-to-do-list.html From Saint Hippo himself on a inside source: It was a perfectly played gambit by Fletcher. So, what’s next on the flow chart? Well, if you watched Fletcher’s interview with us (and if you haven’t, you missed a lot), then you’ll know that he’s talked to Seattle GM Ron Francis about “nine times.” leading up to the expansion draft. And Fletcher told us two very important things of note for us to cobble together… He talked with Jake Voracek about the Flyers needing to get better, and that his time here might be coming to a close and that Jake understands. After all, Voracek did an interview in the Czech Republic, saying as much. Fletcher told us that he talked to Francis about the possibility of the Kraken taking a player in the expansion draft for the Flyers and then trading that player to the Flyers for a package. That information, combined with some more info that has come my way from a couple sources, one within the Flyers organization, and one outside of it, has led me to the following scenario: The Kraken will select Vladimir Tarasenko from the St. Louis Blues in the expansion draft. Seattle will then trade Tarasenko to the Flyers for Voracek and a draft pick. I’m told it’s not the first rounder either. So, let’s say a 2 or a 3. The Kraken then select Robert Hägg from the Flyers in the expansion draft. This is certainly fluid, and could change in the next day or so, but from what I can gather, and putting the puzzle pieces together, this is next on Chuck Fletcher’s flow chart. It also makes sense considering Voracek had his best season in the NHL playing for Hakstol, and Hakstol basically let Voracek play his game when he was his coach. This begs the question, is adding Ellis and Tarasenko and subtracting Myers, Patrick, Voracek, Hägg and a draft pick a good start to the off-season? I’d say yes, and evidence that Fletcher is best at his job when he shows patience. That’s not to say that he’s done. Not by a long shot. There’s still more salary to shed, more moves that can happen. but you would be silly to think that if this is the next move for Fletcher, and it comes to fruition in the coming days, that he isn’t off to a flying start in this critical offseason for the Flyers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If this does go through, it will be a win for both sides of the Teams; Schenn and Jake and Berube all eat cereal flakes for breakfast. Now again does this move the needle at JVR for Johnny G any further? And if we land Larsson: Giroux - Couturier - Tarasenko Gaudreau - Hayes - FarabeeLindblom - Frost - Konecny N.AK - Laughton - Allison Provorov - Ellis (RH)Sanheim - Larsson (RH) Morin - Ghost York should stay in the AHL to fine tune his game(solidify his top farm player/all situations experience/status) and learn more leadership skills and learn with the new system they have in place as a A-Lister with Lappy. No need to rush him.
  20. So I wonder what Ellis' Jersey number will be now that he's a Flyer? And will he get an A on it.
  21. Ya that pisses me off, can't be a bunch of pansies getting pushed around, that's why I was glad Morin was inserted back on Defense and though, I'm in the minority, I was rooting for Rinaldo to stay.(I don't subscribe to dirty hits/plays, but if you can lay the body clean, I'm all for it) when he was on the ice we where a positive momentum team and when momentum was shifting he brought it back, so hopefully at 13th pick, Chuck gets the "Right Stuff" guy, through pick or trade.

  23. Does anyone know the list Seattle picks in regards to which teams are 1 through 30 in order of picks? is it based off of draft order?
