  1. Shape OF A HOCKEY PLAYER.... Form OF A ICE STICK...... gooba gooo gooba gooo....
  2. So many games this year were played like the players didn't know each other and had no chemistry. A few times they looked in sync for an isolated period. Many player, mostly all players stopped moving their feet, stood and watched play, especially in their own zone. What's in their diet? Are they all getting brain fog? Something was definitely not right in how they played as a team, even the coaching staff seemed out of it. Did the Sherona virus really do a number on them? One thing Chuck is doing is stocking up on assets like he said for the Summer, he knows he needs ammunition to make changes. He seems to over/slightly pay above market value, a little too generous. He does though have a limit, it's just not that tight as other GM's but at least he won't ravage the shelves and loose assets. Some are complaining about Nolan Patrick. I think his season was a win. NO HEADACHES, MIGRAINE disorder issues, where he had to sit out for months. He might of had maybe some hidden issues and tried to hockey man his way through them, but he pretty much played every game. Oscar came back from trauma, and played again pretty much the whole season. Farabee has established himself as an up and comer. N.AK please change your number to 47. Morin FINALLY GOT TO PLAY AS A DEFENSEMEN, annnnnd! with Ghost, The trilogy finally accomplished....(Episode I: AHL- Morin/Ghost future defense pair. Episode II: Ghost graduates to NHL to stay. Episode III: Morin and Ghost reunite to play again and now for the Flyers). We got rid of player we were not gonna have anymore for assets. This was a frozen cap year as is next, a lot of teams got handcuffed by this. Expansion draft IS HAPPENING, what the hell do you think GM's are up against? Hey Dummy....(Sanford and Sons) This year stunk, but it also had some positives to move forward with. Even the announcers on NBC Sports Philly said Changes are a coming after this year.(Keith Jones seemed pissed....ha ha ha) Bring back Rinaldo......
  3. I hate to give up on G, but they got rid of Simmonds for Hockey business reasons. (Sit each player down to a man Chuck and spill it out straight, "You want to stay in this organization?" "Well it's been several years the organization hasn't accomplished what it set out for, I'm here to change that, if you want to stay in this, all the city asks is for consistency and effort, it's my job to bring in the results, it's your job to put in the work on the ice." "It's that simple." This Breakfast Club group either needs to put it together consistently or be back in the library for two more months(don't mess with the bull horns fingers) These are not the salad days anymore. 8 years....eight years.....2 years from being two years away....no more.
  4. Getting rid of JVR would of equaled loosing more games this year and probably having a loosing record. I didn't like his game in the past for lack of physical play but he has come around and played with more intensity, effort and physicality. I see him as a piece to help a winning Cup Championship. Laughton has developed year by year, and pushed forward to be a versatile player up and down the lineup. He has skills but needs to work on finishing more(mentally more than talent wise to believe in his former pre NHL days.)Management cornered him to be more a grinder 4th liner, but was more talented than that and is now breaking out of that role. Coots had to do the same thing when they pigeon holed him to be a PK specialist/defensive face off forward. Coots finally broke out of that position. Ghost is a player that IS dynamic and has solid talent. I don't like their powerplay sling setup and can see odd man rushes because of it and we saw that last game. No one picked up Ghost because the fear of the state of hockey right now, with the expansion, frozen cap. Contract issues, there's allot of uncertainty this and next year and GM's are waiting it out for next year after expansion and more normalcy. I think Jake might get dealt, though it's a shame because if he'd only bring his talent for 3 periods he would be easily worth his contract but unfortunately is not consistent (though his play has been better along with JVR). Ghost and Morin was a pair I had visions of when they played together in the AHL they complimented each other pretty well(Provy wasn't around back then so I thought this would be our home grown pair of defensive youth coming up. (we now have Sanheim and Myers also) I don't know what management has against Ghost but they shouldn't of picked up Gus, and thought a little more on resigning Braun as the best option( I like Braun in a specialized role only 7D). Though many say Nisky letting management know his intentions gave them some time to research out the solution. He gave them several months notice. We are in a tuff spot, because some of the pieces we do have: Ghost, JVR and to a lesser extent Jake are what a contender will want to have on their squad. But it IS unescapable of the up and down, buy in, this team has shown. I'm glad Morin is in our lineup and clears the crease. Getting rid of Rinaldo crippled our forecheck and physicality. Not keeping Simmonds just about nailed away our heritage. Nak could be a beacon of hope. I'll go on record and say this: Nak would of had 10 goals by now at least had they played give an go with him. It pisses the living microbial feces out of me that he is always game to start something in the neutral/offensive zone to create a rush and he gives and they don't take the play, he goes off and tries to create odd man rushes or mismatches and whoever I mean whoever gets the puck forgets he's on ice and doesn't give it back to him. He can pass pretty well and has hockey smarts to know where the play can be. And Nothing NOTHING ever comes out of his effort, very rare they give him back the puck with intent. I see the dejected look in his spirit as the opportunity fades away. It hurts the hockey soul to see it fizzle away. I can even see it in his demeanor of an opportunity lost as he skates back to regroup a lost opportunity. As Kanye West says,"Wake up!" I see this as a problem that needs to be addressed and the stupid pass to the guy that has two or three opponents on him in the neutral zone. I don't really see Ghost making those type of bad passes often and Morin has been a blessing in the outlet defensive zone passing. Allowing continuity in our offensive attack.
  5. If they do get Bernier, the whisper of Hart resetting in the AHL would be worrisome. It's risky to loose Ghost for nothing, but Fletch doesn't know if he's a buyer or quasi-seller, until about several days/mini series pass by(BOS), and then having roster and cap flexibility to make some moves/trades happen and still be able to have Ghost under 10 game management/[re-]waivers is risky to loose for nothing. Very few GM's can perplex and Chuck Fletcher's watermark is on display.
  6. I've had my doubts with the GM Fletcher in the beginning and have been steered back in alignment with his forward thinking. This looks like one of those bad decisions at first and does not make sense at all, but he has been able to storm through people second guessing him and come out on the other side; unless Deucalion and Pyrrha replace players, stone by stone are they fearing rebuilding the Franchise? This could be the year at end.
  7. Unless they are acquiring a better player than Ghost, it is a very bad move, roster wise and managing your assets. Like him or not like him(individually, because the whole team played like suck). he is the only defensemen that has the ability to exponentially keep the puck in the offensive zone, the only other player would be G, but his age limits him to be able to do it consistently. In the Power Play this is crucial to keeping momentum in scoring and when pulling a goalie out in a series, this is crucial. Ghost knows how to juke and no one on our team can compare. He use to play with Morin in the AHL I believe and were a solid D pair and had chemistry as well. They were our future D pairings. If he gets claimed for nothing of action, then that was very foolish/stupid to loose out on an asset for nothing. His contract was setup after he showed promise 1st/2nd year same as Coots was. Coots skyrocketed on a slow projection but that contract is gold, Ghost was projected to path in the same direction but had a few technical mishaps along the way to not be in the same orbit for a defensemen. BTW Sam C. in the past thought a legit tweet came out and posted it on his blog and then had to retract it last time and apologize because he thought it was real, so you can't quote him and take it as a source, meta'd.
  8. Hope Provy and Ghost prove me right tonight. Ya I said it.[Chris Rock voice]
  9. Your appreciated around here Samifan. Yours was the best post of the day. TCB.
  10. They should of gotten the first overall pick...it sucks they didn't. Having two Stanley Cups, though....two Stanley Cups....(leans back on rocking chair and takes a puff)
  11. I heard Buffalo will be letting some in later in the year. Waiting on their Herd Immunity to graze by in Spring.
  12. Damn dude Flyers beat Penguins Ha Ha Ha. Seriously. Let's Go Flyers.
  13. Like last year I felt Power Play Unit 2 is/was better than Power Play Unit 1. Would like to see N.AK on PP2 but right now they're clicking nicely. Again could be because of opposition scouting but we will see after a while how PP2 does.
  14. In a pinch when traveling or out of market this site has worked with popup on preferably blockers: https://sportsurge.net/#/groups/0
  15. This is how N.AK and PLD "Fit" in this thread. If we protect Jake in expansion = we will most likely "loose" N.AK If we trade for PLD this year, he will be protected in expansion = we will most likely "loose" N.AK. N.AK will not be our sacrificial lamb fam(b).....KEEP your PLD ....PLa-eeesD
  16. This is what I'd like to see: Forward line is probably already set. Giroux - Couturier - Voracek JVR - Hayes - Farabee Lindblom- Patrick - Konecny Raffl - Laughton - NAK Defensive pairing I want to see in the start of the year. Provorov - Ghost# Sanheim - Myers Hagg -Gustafsson/ Braun Hart Elliott Per Meltzer lines: Jan 12, 2021 Lindblom-Couturier-TK Giroux-Hayes-Farabee JVR-Patrick-Voracek Raffl-Laughton-NAK 13th: Frost Not at practice: Gostisbehere Bill Meltzer @billmeltzer Provorov-Braun# Sanheim-Myers Hägg-Gustafsson Friedman - [Prosser took reps today] Hart Elliott *Forward Players I put in. #Defensemen swapped. It looks like if Ghost had not been medically unable to play, they would of put Ghost on top line with Provy like I said should be tried out. I am interested in seeing the current forward lines as it creates seasoned players with the newer youth/returning players with some security in line-mates that have been through some of the torrents of last year. Let's Go Flyers - mates
  17. TCS I believe have been involved in a lawsuit, due to corrupt practices. I had a classmate that told me he and his father had to train contractors their job responsibility and certain SOP's for the remaining month they had their jobs. Failure to comply would result in their losing their final retainment privilege's and severance. They were in essence sharpening the knives of their executioner's. The father I believe had worked for the company for over 40 years and the son was heading at over 17. They lost their jobs at the end to inexperienced lower waged workers, so that the CEO could save 100's of thousands of dollars and in return would keep a percentage of the savings. Typical moves of new CEO's going in shop and cleaning house. The shady part is when they bring in H1 Visa'd temp employees from overseas to work in American employed companies to hire non citizen employees causing the US Citizen employee to loose their job and then become another casualty of the unemployed in the US having been gainfully employed and through no fault of their own loosing that status. It got so bad that I believe the previous administration back in 2015 turned their attention to this problem. I believe the following administration put an end to this hiring loophole. If not mistaken I believe the company is from India. I also believe their is another global company that was involved in this practice. Not a company I would endorse or speak highly of.
  18. PSSST........Pierre-Luc Dubois has asked for a trade.......pssst
  19. https://phillysportsnetwork.com/2021/01/02/flyers-morin-finding-new-life-at-left-wing/ January 2, 2021 by Eric Reese FIGHTING FOR A FUTURE WITH THE PHILADELPHIA FLYERS, SAMUEL MORIN IS FINDING NEW LIFE BY CHANGING FROM DEFENSEMAN TO LEFT-WING. If you had Samuel Morin changing positions on your wacky 2020 hockey bingo board, you win. The former defenseman capped off an already strange hockey year by making the switch to the left-wing. Upon the announcement, you miss blame if you assumed it was a misprint. Has Flyers’ general manager Chuck Fletcher gone full mad scientist? If you asked Morin, he would tell you this is a part of his journey. EXPERIENCE BEFORE THE FLYERS In football, it is common to play a position on both sides of the ball. For example, I played tight end and linebacker. The same goes for hockey. Becoming a defenseman after starting as a forward offers insight on how to shut down some offensive schemes. Morin made the change to defense after a couple of years in junior hockey. Based on what we understand about Morin playing left wing in junior hockey, we’ll assume that was during 2011-2012 with Rimouski Oceanic. During that time, he tallied 8 points (all assists) in 62 games. He made the QMJHL All-Rookie Team in 2011-2012. If Morin did play left wing in 2011-2012, the position change makes a little more sense. The Philadelphia Flyers are deep on defense. At the beginning of 2019-2020, Morin was in those plans. Unfortunately, he suffered a second torn ACL. His determination never faltered, which is why Alain Vigneault suggested the change. His unique background is giving him another chance. STEPPING BACK ON THE ICE Vigneault suggested the position change to get Morin back on the ice. Building confidence is key for his reintroduction to hockey. Mentally, the opportunity for Morin to be back with the team instead of the rehabilitation room is doing wonders. Aside from the mental toughness, Morin needed to test his skating legs. He feels good but understands the work in progress. Taking one day at a time is the best method after the previous injuries. The next step is building confidence at a new position, which it sounds like Morin is. MAKING THE POSITION SWITCH HOW IT COULD IMPACT THE FLYERS Involved in suggesting the position change with Vigneault and Fletcher was Ian Laperriere. During the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs, the Flyers didn’t play as physical as they needed. Speed on the opposing teams ruled Philadelphia. One way to counter speed is with physicality. Enlisting Morin, hungrier than he’s ever been, means the Flyers could be the ones pushing players around. Morin might be the ‘Broadstreet Bully’ that Philadelphia is currently missing. The New York Islanders and Tampa Bay Lightning were two quick teams that gave the Flyers fits in 2019-2020. Wise beyond his years, Morin took notice of that. Through 2019-2020, Matt Martin scored three goals against Philadelphia. If the Flyers had a lead against the Islanders, Martin was there to tie the game. Morin notices how efficient Martin’s game is, modeling his approach after it. Even if the position change is ultimately temporary, Morin’s honest approach to the switch could prove valuable to Philadelphia. Mandatory Photo Credit: Fred Kfoury III/Icon Sportswire
