  1. Wait... now I remember! Okay, so the Flyers brought in this train wreck (Bryz), and signed him to a whopper of a deal. One that for reasons I cannot fathom, was met with angst among Flyer faithful. They then shipped out a young up and comer, again with unwarranted criticism. So now, instead of Bryz looking like a good move, he clearly looks like the typical bone headed, lightning in a bottle transaction so often attached to Flyer brass. My question is, if the Flyers buy this guy out, aren't they clearly acknowledging that they screwed up, and would the axe then fall upon those responsible? My next question is.... would the pride of those who made the decision, force them to stcik it out with this guy longer, to avoid looking like they are completley incompetant?
  2. So a few years back, there was an NFL quarterback named Bret Favre (pronounced FARVE), who played for the Green Bay Packers (maybe some of you heard of him). Allegedly he was some kind of big deal, or at least a pretty good player. For whatever reason the fans loved him. Anyway, the guy was getting old and the team brought in a new coach and GM. They then drafted another QB named Aaron something-or other. Well Arron, let's call him Rogers, was stuck on the bench behind this Favre character and couldn't play until a move was made. As it turned out, Favre was waivering on his first of many retirements, and the team turned to Rogers, essentially forcing the franchise player out the door for good. That's the last we ever heard of Favre ,<cough-cough> Why would they do this? Well, this Aaron cat had only so many years before he would be a free agent and if he walked, without ever playing for the Packers, the GM, and likely the coach, would have gotten canned over it. So in an effort to solidify their decision and show they were competant, they made the move and lived happily ever after without a shred of media coverage over it. Okay, so what does this have to do with Bryzgalov or the Flyers? I don't know. I am slightly brain damaged and having a raging case of ADHD, so i got off on a tangent. And I miss football.
  3. I just couldn't get past that this was actually a story in print. I have heard more inteesting perspective and reporting on this forum. So he got a haircut...BFD!. What, was he tired of looking like a little boy? He ought to shave his head and grow a goatee. Maybe he'll look a little tougher
  4. I think he should sport a Mullet.... it worked for Melrose
  5. Briere got a haircut ... his trade value has never been higher! Teams will be lining up for him now. Homer needs to rape amd pillage
  6. The fact that his haircut is a topic for a news story tells how ridicu;ous this season is and how far this team has fallen. This is not directed at you personally, but everytime a player on the Flyers is having a hard time, the injury card is played. If he is injured and his performance is an indicator of how much impact that injury has, then he is a selfish ass for even being out there. If the team knows he's hurt and they keep running him out there like this, they deserve what they get. I personally don't buy the injury excuse. I think the guy is just declining in play and its time to cut ties with him ASAP
  7. Danny Briere cut his hair.... all will be good in Flyerland! Playoffs, here come the Flyers
  8. Guy had a nice rookie season and was a steal. I know he was injured but he has 7 goals and 7 assists. three of those goals were a hat trick. Outside of that game, he has only 2 other multiple point games and one of those was against the islanders. He's a nice player but I think he gets way too much hype on this forum
  9. I think the Flyers should do with him what they do with all their young players who struggle .....TRADE HIM! this is the 100% sure fire way to ensure he will go on to be a very valuable NHL player
  10. I get it.... we are honestly looking for the positives in face of over powering negatives. The team is playing awful but hey, some guys are really trying hard. Problem is, from a fan perspective, this isn't what I want. I'm tired of seeing teams making the right moves and bettering their teams, and the Flyers keep doing the same retarded things. I don't blame any of you for seeing the positives or feeling good about it, but I chose not to. When I watch these games I find myself losing interest becasue the "good effort" isn't what I watch the game for. I want to see a team that plays its ass off night in and night out. I used to say it didn't matter if the Flyers lost, as long as they beat the crap out of the other team. Essentially what i am saying is, "FIGHT!". Show some heart. take it personally. I'm not saying I want the BS Bullies back, so don't go there. and don't bother telling me to turn off the games if i don't like it. After all these years, I, like many others have earned the right to complain. In the end, I know it doesn't make a difference. so i will just be patient and wait until it turns around. It always does. Until then, I will wait for every Rinaldo shift, because he is the only guy I see playing like he takes it personally ...just ask Ryan Malone
  11. and people couldn't wait to put that letter on his chest
  12. I understand the "all fairness" comment, but really, is it fair? The team is playing like crap. They aren't very good and managment continues to do the same idiotic things, year after year. If all we have to draw positives from is a few guys are "working hard", then we are in really bad shape. Nearly every player on this team is having a worse year than they did last season. The re-treads aren't working out. The young kids aren't producing. The superstar isn't, and the megla millionaires are going through the motions. For me, there is only one thing that I enjoy watching this season as far as this team goes...Zac Rinaldo. The kid is a hitting machine and is playing great. If we are going to applaud "hard work", let's start with him
  13. I always thought i would either drive off the edge or push somebody over the edge... either way, Scary!
  14. In the legal field, i think that would be considered "justifiable homicide"
  15. It think they rushed him to the "C" .... maybe he wanted to be "Just like Mike"
  16. I would bet, if we rolled back the forum clock, we would find very similar discussions the last time this team went in the toilet. I find it obscenly hilarious that the Flyers keep doing the same things over and over again. THe goalie issue. The re-tread players. The making every up an coming young superstar a captain way too soon. The signing of big time defensemen who were "big time", ten years ago. The hining of coaches, and or GM's, who once played for the team. Every player on this team, with the exception of Voracek and Rinaldo, are playing worse thant they did a season ago. Are we supposed to think that they just all of a sudden forgot how to play, or lost thier skill? I don't think its Lavy. I think it starts with the management that puts these players together and thinks they have a winning team. Sometimes its not the best player, but the right player you need. Bryzgalov is the wrong player. So is Knuble, Gagne and Fedotenko. Snider is the main problem, and Holgren was his pick to GM. It hasn't worked since 75, and it won't magically work this year, or next, or next, or next .....
  17. what the hell is wrong with everyone on this site? everytime a guy has a bad year the knee jerk reaction is "TRADE HIM". How many times has a good young player been shipped off, just to flourish with another team? Damn! this team sent Luca Sbisa packing for Chris Pronger, and a friggin lynch mob was formed. But now it's, trade coburn...trade cotourier... trade read...trade laughton...trade schen. How many JVR's, Patrick Sharp, Dianus Zubrus, Justin Williams, and others need to get shipped off before this franchise gets control of themselves? And of course this team is notorious for dealing away young talent just to bring them back when they are old and useless. If you honestly expect to win with Knuble, Fedotenko and Gagne, you are just sutpid. I don't know why we expect anything different. Draft picks are essentially useless and this franchise has become a farm team for other NHL teams. Instead they bank their future and current success on players ii the twi-light of their careers, or players who weren't good enough to win here the first time
  18. Doesn't anyone have a problem witth the knee jerk reaction trade ideas? Trade Coburn becasue he is having a bad year on an awful team? WTF? By that logic, trade Giroux as well. He is not playing like he did last season
  19. This is the same thing being said about JVR last season. Would you take him back right now?
  20. Is Coburn playing bad becasue his skills are gone, or is he playing bad because of the dynamics of the team. How many times has a struggling player been moved, only to play great elsewhere? Its times for management to look in the mirror
  21. Yes, they are interviewing Leighton to be the goalie coach of the future. After all, he has been a good Flyer Seriously, I think this is just a sign of how desperate this franchise is and maybe they think they can catch lightning in a bottle. Perhaps they should just save some money and buy a white flag... "WE GIVE UP!"
  22. The positves for this season? Its short It will be over soon there is always next season carry on.....
  23. they just aren't that good. too many holes in key places
