  1. I fully expected you to say, "but hey who cares? JVR is gone!"
  2. Don't knock. I've worked hard trying to be that. I'm heartbroken.
  3. Wow. Was that photographed out of a helicopter? It's so colorful. Looks like a very nice place. I don't think it could be better if someone painted it.
  4. Abso lutely. Anything more that three syll ables is way too con fusing.
  5. If there was, I'm thinking he'd be there right now.
  6. I wasn't happy about the Hathaway signing. I was glad it wasn't Anne, though. You just make it feel oh so much worse. Thanks. Now you just made by corn flakes taste so generic.
  7. Is to for better as for Obama in social ist to when Giroux skate under square of to Lenin for Yoko.
  8. Yes, I would think so. I mentioned in the other thread they're probably thinking along the lines of their luck with Tippett.
  9. The only difference is depending on where it could alter his "workhorse" status. Probably not, but possible.
  10. It makes you wonder what the hell was wrong with Fletcher that he couldn't have traded him to Boston, retained 50% and gotten a conditional 2024 late round pick. Seriously. He was absolutely worthless garbage (Fletcher. Arguably JVR)
  11. Probably yes. But I'm betting they're thinking Tippett-like reclamation project
  12. Poehling to the Flyers. This is exactly the kind of reclamation, prove it signing they should be going for.
  13. I thought of you and @J0e Th0rnton when I saw the signings. I honestly don't understand Carolina at all, actually.
  14. I said this when he went to Toronto and was told I know nothing about hockey. I don't like him. I don't think he's worth jack. And he didn't help the Leafs at all. This signing makes zero sense to me, though I wondered if this was the plan when they traded Johansen (who I also dislike and for similar reasons). I know a new GM wants to make a splash, but he's deluding himself if he thinks that team is close. To sign a 32 year old to that kind of money and specifically someone who has several times seemingly checked out on his team -- it's just management malpractice, IMO. Hoping whoever it was when he went to Toronto who told me how star spangled awesome that trade was can come back and tell me how wonderful this was. Then i can know my opinion here has been truly validated.
  15. Historically, for much of that you could be talking about the Flyers themselves. If he gets cancer, will that be Clarke's fault?
  16. Who are you referring to as solid to great? I was kind of with you until here but I got lost on who was solid/great. Laughton? I'll give you solid. But I'm not positive that's who's being referred to. Yeah, there's certainly a risk trading everyone of any value for what amounts to lottery tickets. You have to keep some stability while in transition. I agree. Laughton is an example of someone I'm hesitant on. The guy isn't great. But he's steady and can move around the lineup as needed. If you're trying to model work ethic, he's a decent example. If you're NOT trading some of the others I'd consider trading Laughton. But you have to keep someone or you get end up with a prolonged swim in the swamp.
  17. The answer is "no one." In real time I wanted Kupari, K'Andre Miller, Veleno or maybe trade back or reach for Sandin. Turns out none of it mattered.
  18. Yes. It *sounds* to me like Michkov was a Briere pick, and Bonk was the Jones pick. I'm fine if that was the deal.
  19. Bonk is fine. I think I go Musty or Gulyayev there, but the latter fell farther than I was expecting. Between Bonk and Gulyayev it's probably a toss up, so I'm fine with Bonk. Overall, I'm happy with the first round.
