  1. I hope Barzal doesn't get used to it. I doubt Horvat is staying. I don't think I like this if I'm an Isles fan. He's not staying, so you trade yet another first and a prospect for a rental in a year where the rental really isn't going to be enough. I mean, it makes them better. I mean, if the idea is to get them into the playoffs, woohoo! But a rental to finish 4th in the division?
  2. Right? If he can't have the puck bounce off his ### and accidentally get some points with talent in Edmonton, what the hell will he do with Kevin fricken Hayes? I honestly cannot begin to imagine why this is even a fleeting thought. Why is Chuck hell bent on helping every single team in the league right their mistakes except the team that employs his worthless a##?
  3. If Puljujarvi had a career-ending core injury, how would anyone notice the difference? He's absolutely a waste of laces. If I make that trade, I better get a pick and prospect and I'd let JP walk off on RFA this summer. No way in the world I trade for him. So book your tickets now for "Welcome JP Night." It's almost guaranteed.
  4. And why trade defensemen for a loser of a hockey player like Jesse Puljujarvi? If this didn't so completely smell like Flyer idiocy, I'd say the writer is on crack. The whole front office needs to be butchered. Then again,, those enthralled with stupid puppets will surely think this is a terrific idea.
  5. Right. He's a solid second pairing guy and a strong one with a competent partner. I don't think he's first pairing anywhere except as a fill in next to an Allstar #1
  6. I still like Sanheim. If he played for another organization and/or had a competent partner he'd be very good. I don't think he's a problem.
  7. This has always been my narrative. I think it's pretty obvious in the context of that article.
  8. Infuriating article. While it's nothing that most of us didn't already know, it's extremely interesting and revealing when put in timeline form like it is.
  9. You know me long time, so you know my attitude toward Boudreau (he won't cut down a cherry tree, or something). But you are entirely accurate in assigning blame here. I've never actually been a Rutherford fan, either, so I was not at all impressed with any of the "leadership" in Vancouver, but it would have been nice if Boudreau had at least been given something, anything, to work with there.
  10. I've seen this reference before. I honestly don't see it. If the Monopoly guy and Droopy Dog had a kid...
  11. He deserves it. I never have and never will be a Boudreau fan. I have always felt--and always will--that the guy is a fraud. While he was in Washington, I'll always believe they'd have won a Cup with a different coach. I thought he was terrible at every stop. Some idiotic GM will fire their GM and go ahead and hire him yet again. He's terrible. I honestly don't understand what is wrong with front offices who look at a guy's track record and soberly say "gotta git me summalat." Those GMs should be fired, too.
  12. You know, seriously. There is not a damn thing worth discussing about this **** hockey team on this **** site that hasn't been beaten to death ad nauseum. The Flyers have something happen that makes national news that is actually worth discussing and apparently we're so incapable of discussing in an adult manner that it causes the mods to have to way overreact and wipe out all mention of said national news, including posts that soberly, without malice or attack simply expressed personal opinion on said national news topic. I'm not trying to throw the mods under the bus here. They're good, honest people who go out of their way to do their best so I don't know what went on but I know they did what they felt they had to and after a lot of thought. But for the life of me, outside of my participation in the fantasy hockey leagues, I can't figure out why the hell to bother. Sorry for the rant, and this will be deleted since this is 1000 times more aggressive than my previous, now deleted or hidden post, but this sucks. I now return you to your stream of regurgitated vomit on the most recent pointless Flyers game.
  13. Agreed. I have to again consider my continued membership here
  14. I know, right? I've hit my 3-year cogent thought quota.
  15. I'm glad they've been able to get his feat wet against the teams that are on the lower end. But honestly, "the none of these are good teams" teams still have players on skates and presumably carrying sticks. I mean, Risto is still on the ice sometimes, so...
  16. Provorov doesn't survive the trade deadline as a Flyer. Write that down I'm just sad that it will be Fletcher that does it because it will be Provorov and a 3rd for Giordano. He had to throw in the 3rd because no one was interested in Giordano he's never lost a trade to No One. Only to Everyone.
  17. It's not as if the Caps are the 1985 Oilers,, either. They're a very uneven, underperforming team that will probably squeak into the playoffs but no guarantee. I realize any random group of people on skates are a legitimate measuring stick for Philly, but the "oooh, they beat the Caps" is a bit comical. The Flyers are going nowhere. They're only again doing what they can to miss out on a good pick and perpetuate the justification for not bothering to waste one's time watching them. @aziz, I miss hockey, too. The good old days when Philly had a team.
