In other news.......In game #23, some stiff sucking up 8-10% of the Wild Cap in the next 3 years FINALLY scored his first goal of the season, in spite of being on PP2.

Maybe there's something to the not having practice and getting the legs back to game speed.
Then throw in what has to be crappy ice with a freakin Basketball game earlier. Kings are probably way more used to it that way.
Both players waited too long to shoot in that last shift.

0:0 after 1. Ours 8 shots vs their 13. We were expected that it is going to be not an easy game. Quick was too quick against us during the 1st period to place a goal in his net.

We got sidetracked by the penalties and lack of skating. Wasted 1st period. If they get their legs going, we'll see another great game.

We could be down even 5:0 during the 1st period. Kahkonen stayed like a wall for their shots.

Unless the 'Crypt' has a state of the art ice system, I doubt it will improve much having the arena full of bodies aerly keeping it warmer than usual.

The refs might even it up. My guess is it was partly game management by the refs. Edler got just by that Duhaime hit and the refs blew the whistle almost immediately. I think Duhaime might not even need to fight in this game as the refs favoured the Kings. The refs want a clean game more, than a rightfully called game.
