At the very least can he come into the facilities and teach these guys how to win face offs? for his career he is over 51 percent on face off wins. Currently,the flyers are overall 46% on face offs. He was wearing smiles along with the jersey but the whole time I'm thinking "they told him he no longer fits with their plans, and yes I know they are still paying him but isn't this just an insult now?" Couldn't the Phantoms just scratch him indefinitely? He is still showing as counting towards the Flyers cap hit. blocker Posted December 1, 2011 Share Posted December 1, 2011 Yeah. me too. I feel for Betts. He's a good soldier. He did what was expected of him and then some. But, he's still making a shitload of money. And, I'd bet that he'd make a pretty good coach at some level when this ends. My son coaches minor hockey against a lot of guys similar to Betts. They have built up enough financial resources so that they don't have to work. All they do is coach kids. Not a bad way to spend your life.
