Minnesota admitted last night they tried to be too cute with Detroit, not shooting the puck when they had the chance and it likely cost them a victory.  The Wild should be determined, but it should be a tough game against a Chicago team who also played last night.

Would love to have Toews for playoff run between Kaprisov and Zuccarello

Was talking about this with another Wild fan the other day and I agree.
However, even if Chicago were to retain the full 50%, how in the heck do the Wild squeeze in 5.25M in their cap situation!?

Some sorcery (or maybe shenanigans) would need to take place for that to happen....any high priced player on the Wild that can go on LTIR till next season??

There is 6M to be freed up ;) but we'll need that for our young guys soon.

No worries, I am with you!
Would prefer to invest money in futures rather than hope for someone like Toews to still have enough in the tank to warrant his cost and roster spot.

I actually like Toews even in his eroded condition, as I think he would make a super elite, scoring third line center, but Minnesota simply can't afford that kind of money for a third liner, especially when they have so many other holes in the lineup they need to either fill or build up.

And he never gets hit. Could probably play until he’s 50

I will forever remember Patrick Kane for his game winner against Minnesota, in OT, at the X, during the 2014 playoffs that eliminated the Wild.
Why?
I was with my husband in one of the luxury suites to take a big bite out of a cheeseburger before he put that past the Minnesota goalie that night 😖

Looked close to boarding

Close, but not quite, to be honest.
Boris is just a big man who built up quite a bit of speed and the Un-Johnny was still far enough away from the boards with the puck.....except Boris hit him so hard, he ended up there.
Gaudreau could have been hit at center ice and ended up on the boards with the force of THAT hit....my word...
