Beat the defending SC Champions while fending them off for the division lead, AND adding on to said lead?
Absolutely!

And to do it with some pretty bad referee  calls as well.

During all this time, it has finally been discovered that Kaprizov was anchoring the Wild, shadowing the team's real leaders and most talented players that are Frédérick Hockey, Ryan Reaves and Sam Steel.

Yea, that's funny, but maybe what it has shown is Evanson moving away from his 4 line rotation a little too soon.

Evanson seems to shorten his bench rather quickly when they get down a goal.

In a weird way, Having Kap go down for an extended time could possibly be the best thing to happen for this team.
Sure, Kap gets a deserved rest, But More importantly the team had to individually and collectively take responsibility for their play and general effort.
Instead of having the Kaprisov cushion to fall back on.

The Wild is like 7-1-2 since Kaprizov is out, so that's a perfect example of what coaches expect in tems of other guys stepping up. But maybe Minnesota should have got Parisé back from the Isles at the trade deadline, just to compensate a bit of scoring and depth...

(Don't try, I already left.)

Not agree at all. Nothing was discovered. Gaudreau and Reaves didn't play with Kaprizov. Gaudreau was the best entire season especially in SO. Steel was benched a half of the season by Evason without any reason. I am sure Steel would be benched if Reaves was healthy yesterday. We have now 4 new players from Sweden(signed in one week) which mentally boosted the team even when Kaprizov was healthy. Other players started to produce then. Plus team has an outstanding goalies who are stealing game after game most of the games for us entire season which helped us to stay on the top of the Division most 2022-2023 season.

Exactly! That’s what I was hoping would happen.
Sometimes losing your star can be a good thing as long as Kirill comes back in time to get his timing and legs ready.
