The incident occurred at 9:28 of the third period in the Bruins' 3-2 overtime win at TD Garden in Boston. McAvoy received a match penalty on the play, which caused Ekman-Larsson to leave the game with an undisclosed injury. The following grounds are being considered for supplemental discipline: illegal check to the head. Match penalty assessed Player injured Yup ..... agree with all above. 4-5 games with an appropriate monetary fine. Look I love hard clean hits as anyone else does HOWEVER, these are the hits that the NHL must eliminate. Absolutely no reason to go head hunting here. They get suspended without pay so whatever the amount of pay for the games goes to the player emergency fund. Players with the big contracts forfeit more money than the plumbers.
