I still marvel that Fletcher decided to build a team around players everyone else in the league thought were either lazy f***s or locker room cancers. And that just getting rid of them brought the Flyers back to where management strives for....mediocre.

They just needed a push to get over the top.

 

They were really thatclose all the time. It was bad luck.  They ran outta gas. They had a flat tire. They didn't have enough money for cab fare. Their tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from outta town. Someone stole their car. There was an earthquake, a terrible flood, locusts! It wasn't their fault! They swear to God!

 

But what we KNOW is that it is the absolute worst stretch of hockey in franchise history.
