brelic
http://t.co/6f2y5GpPKC No word on who's going the other way yet... if it's anything like that terrible trade they made last year (Filip Forsberg for Martin One Goal Erat).
JackStraw
According to Bobby Dustin Penner is now a Cap. Don't know what they gave up for him.
jammer2
@brelic Or as he is known in jammer's household, "the one goal wonder"....what a horrible trade!! Thankfully Forsberg has not been lighting it up *yet*, but it seems like only a matter of time till this trade gets real ugly from a Washington standpoint. In what universe is Erat a guy to push a marginal playoff contender over the top?
flyercanuck
Who cares what he was traded for? Todays National Pancake Day And two years ago... http://www.thestar.com/sports/hockey/2012/01/09/la_kings_forward_dustin_penner_hurt_while_eating_pancakes.html
jammer2
@flyercanuck hmmm, must have been an extra yummy batch with blueberries, thus a rush to partake.....and WHAM out for a month!!
JackStraw
McKenzie says 4th round pick for Penner. Good deal for the Caps I think. And Anaheim turns around and trades the 4th for Robidas. Things are heating up.
jammer2
@JackStraw Really, a 4th rounder for a 20-25 goal guy?? I would have thought he would be at *least* a 2nd rounder, if not a late first! This is odd, but I do know from fantasy hockey that he was getting complacent on the top line with Getzlaf and Perry...and he was press boxed it was so bad, so he's not famous for his hustle or work habits....this must have thrown a monkey wrench into what they could get back....small league and all.... JackStraw
@jammer2 - Penner for a 4th sounds like a steal to me. I remember when he got benched, but I still think he's the kind of player that the Caps can really use.
radoran
How bad can a guy who has a +22 and is "on pace" for 20/50 (21/53) be?
flyercanuck
All I ever hear about Penner is how good he could be if he actually put an effort in. A 4th for him sounds great....but he's not exactly a shining inspiration to his teammates.
jammer2
@flyercanuck Let me proudly introduce....Penner, Ovechkin and Erat...."the buoy" line....guaranteed to never stop floating!!
