They will get a salary cap credit (Yes, they will be able to exceed the cap this year) of $650,000. I'm not sure how it happened in his contract, but it appears to be true. ROFL That's gotta hurt. Like not "ow I stubbed my toe" hurts, but like "sodomize me with a rusty fishing knife" hurts. They were not in horrid cap shape. New contracts for Zucker and Dumba and a backup goalie are the only pertinent moves and those would not have broken the bank. Cap is at 73 million and now they have 14 million in space. What are they planning? Looking at the UFA pool, I don't see who they are targeting. They don''t have enough space for Stamkos without further moves. Backes maybe?
