Thanks. At this point not sure if there will be a 2020-21 AHL season but the prospect are playing in various different locations and will need a place for those wanting updates. America players are slated to report for camp in Plymouth, Mich., on Dec. 10, so Brink could play in as many as four NCHC games before his focus shifts to the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship. The 19-year-old forward had one goal and one assist in five games for the United States at last year's tournament. Brink, who was 34th pick in the 2019 NHL Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, had 11 goals and 24 points over 28 contests for the University of Denver last season. Zzeke Posted November 23, 2020 Share Posted November 23, 2020 (edited) Wow! LW Desnoyers scored again on Saturday! He now has 12 goals in 16 games for the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL. Last season with the Moncton Wildcats he scored 11 goals over 61 games. An 18 year old developing Flyers prospect from this year's Draft, 5th Round. Very smart, good wheels always making the right plays...I think he could be a sleeper middle six player in a few years. I like that he's in a leadership position on his team as a junior. There are a lot of guys in the system, and the big team is good. I hate to say it but there's a lot to like about the way the Flyers are situated right now. The 19-year-old is an under-sized defenseman (5-foot-11, 175 pounds), but he's a dynamic offensive talent. York has already picked up two goals and five assists in eight games with the University of Michigan this season. He managed to collect 16 points in 30 NCAA games last year, so he's on pace to make a significant improvement in that category. "He always plays the same, plays with a ton of confidence," Flyers assistant GM Brent Flahr said. "Terrific skater, terrific outlet passer. He's got an offensive dimension, but he's one of those guys that controls the game from the back end. He's a guy that's really put in the time off the ice here during the break. ... The tournament runs from December 14-20. Kase had been on loan with HC Karlovy Vary of the Czech Extraliga where he had four goals and 13 points in 16 contests. Among the cuts were Flyers 2020 first-round pick Tyson Foerster - - Foerster was not expected to make the WJC final roster this year. Come next year, when he is 19, he should stand a better chance of earning a spot. He will now await the belated start of the 2020-21 Ontario Hockey League season with his Barrie Colts team. Earlier this week, Hockey Canada sent home Flyers 2019 fourth-round pick Mason Millman for Covid-related reasons. The 19-year-old Saginaw Spirit (OHL) defenseman was himself considered a longshot for the final WJC roster from the outset. [Flyers' defenceman Cam York and RW Bobby Brink are expected to make the Team USA. Flyers' 6'8" goalie Ivan Fedotov made Team Russia as one of their 3 goaltenders. The Hockey News December 13, 2020 Cam York, D (Philadelphia Flyers) With Alex Vlasic out of the picture, York's presence is even more important in 2021. The lone returning defenseman from the 2020 world junior squad, York was off to a strong start at the University of Michigan before joining camp, playing alongside projected 2021 No. 1 pick Owen Power on a stout blueline. York is a smart defenseman who doesn't find himself out of position often and he does a fantastic job of setting his forwards up with long stretch passes – his teammates trust him with the puck. He'll get heavy minutes for the Americans. Bobby Brink, RW (Philadelphia Flyers) Speaking of Flyers' prospects, Bobby "Orr" Brink (yes, his middle name is Orr) is one of the more intriguing forwards on this deep squad. For a small player at 5-foot-8, Brink brings a type of energy to his game that you can't ignore, and he's always been noticeable when he's suited up for his country internationally. Brink's biggest asset is how he alludes defenseman and sets his teammates up with patience, not willing to throw the puck away to just simply make a play but would rather make the right play instead. Laczynski played center and both wings at Ohio State, where he had 143 points and a plus-49 rating in 138 career games over four seasons. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Able to play center or wing, Laczynski has skated on the Buckeyes' top forward line each of the last two seasons. The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Illinois native is heavy on the puck and plays a responsible 200-foot game. “He plays a mature two-way game, he’s a proven leader, and we see him as a versatile forward for the Flyers organization going forward," Flyers assistant general manager Brent Flahr said. During his freshman season at Ohio State, Laczynski beat out some more highly touted prospects to earn a roster spot on Team USA’s gold-medal-winning squad at the 2016-17 World Junior Championships. His ability to adapt to a fourth-line role helped him win the job. Overall at the NCAA level, Laczynski appeared in 138 games and posted 143 points (48g, 95a) over his four seasons. The Buckeyes reached the Frozen Four in March 28. Laczynski was selected as a second-team All-American and first-team All-Big Ten in 2017-18. This season, as a senior, he led his team in scoring after ranking second in his junior year. Q & A with Flahr - Do you foresee any of your older first-year pros coming in this season -- Linus Sandin, Wade Allison, and Tanner Laczynski specifically -- to compete for a NHL job this upcoming season? All through are physically mature and 23- or 24-years old. Brent Flahr (BF): First of all, Laczynski and Allison like you said, and Sandin, they’re older players. They’re physically more mature than typically players that are coming out of junior that are 19, 20 years old. Their mindset coming to camp is to make the team. Whether they’re ready for that, it’s up to them and their performance. At the same time, we expect them to help and challenge the internal competition. In reality I would say, I would assume that each of them are going to play games this year. Hopefully one of them grabs it and makes the best of their opportunity. With the NHL moving toward the temporary expanded 26-player roster and a taxi squad of 4 players, Laczynski may very well stick with the Flyers to start this new season.
