Damn, I didn't get this game tonite on any channel! But I take it the Hawks had no 3rd period issues tonite, lol....a 5-1 blowout! Must've been a beaut to watch! I'll have to catch the highlights....(was Evander Kane a no-show on the ice? And I think Trouba was out for them injured, that may have made a bit of difference too). The question is: WHO or how many did Buffy slam??

I was quite surprised the game was that close when flipping the channels last nite, Flames must have put up a fight. Monahan is so mature for his age it's almost scary, you can even tell it from his interviews...he's what, 18/19? So composed & carries himself well, even when speaking to the media. The rush of playing in the big league doesn't seem to have gotten to his head & it shows also on the ice. Who wouldn't love to have had that pick now? I had no idea they were placing Joey Mac on waivers, I thought he was doing very well for them, considering. I haven't watched every game. Damn, I really like that kid too! One of my fave players on the Flames. Didn't know Gus was on IR either, what a shame, hopefully not too serious or for too long. Love to watch him too.

Tbh, I haven't watched enough Hawks games to give a fair evaluation (but now that I've got Center Ice!), but off the top of my head, I'd say current vs former Hawks....the one that will be very interesting for me to watch will be Byfuglien! He absolutely wreaked havoc on our team in the playoffs & has continued his 'flattening' out players rampage this season.....so will be watching for him to continue the same with their top players (which is pretty much everyone on the Hawks!). Should make for an interesting game!

Good stuff @radoran! (haven't checked your numbers but I'm sure they're correct lol). Yes, I think the twins could have gotten more on their deal if they really wanted, but in a press interview today, they said money was only a part of the negotiations, which they made pretty clear prior, about family here, etc. (They just made the fans nervous for awhile here..lol. ) I'm not saying now they'll get the Cup, but I like what I've seen Torts do with the team so far. I haven't seen as much shot blocking before nor goal scoring coming from our 1st through 3rd lines, plus from our 1st/2nd D-lines..., esp by the new blood Richardson & Stanton, not to mention the hot kid on the block right now, Santorelli...he's gotten points on just about every game. If they can keep up what they've been doing & building on these strengths, I think (for once this year!) they could be good contenders in the playoffs. I'm not sure they'll be cup-worthy before BoHo & Shink are ready, but they could come on strong.

I think it's fair for them, considering they've taken a hometown discount all these yrs...they deserve it. Plus the cap will be rising...just SO relieved right now...lol.

Haha...there's almost 84,000 members so I think the mods would nip it in the bud before she could get away with that...it does make a huge difference without mod control...it just implodes. (however I'd love to see her & Kuato go at it, I think she'd have him for breakfast... )

Here's wishing Manny all the best with his long-awaited comeback with his career, he has been wanting to play again for a long time. He was one heck of a face-off guy for us & we sorely missed him when he was gone, our club to this day struggles with our face-offs in his absence. He is a great guy & if anyone deserves a second chance at playing at the pro level again, it's him. Hope to see him on the ice again.

That was one of the best games I've seen so far this season...exactly like watching a playoff game! What great effort & pace through the whole game...our team needs to take notes haha.

I just wondered what your experiences were like in posting/commenting in your own team's fan forums? (I've already seen the cross-fire at philly.com with Flyer fans ). I really have to think, though, that our forum at the Nucks' site (& besides their Facebook page), has got to be one of the most immature, classless, and nitpickiest fan forums around out there. (I know...I know what you Flyer fans are gonna say...lol). Now, not all of the members on there are like this, of course, but as they say, it only takes a small percentage to rot the rest of the apples in the barrell. However, in our case, I don't think it's even a small percentage. But seriously, one of the members on the Nucks' forum has made a point to track fan comments/posts from the opposing teams' fan forums after every game that we play. The results have been quite eye-opening. He's posted so far fans' comments from St. Louis, Washington, & Detroit after their games against us. None of them were as low-blowing & distasteful as ours in speaking about the opposing teams (& that's putting it mildly!). The classiest, most sportsmanlike comments so far, have come from St. Louis fans (ya hear that @bunnyman? lol). Really, they put our fans to shame, (again, not all, but a lot!) & it's frustrating to the decent fans that genuinely just want to talk hockey. Some fans I have chatted with are so disgusted with our team forum that they refuse to post any more comments or start any new topics there. They instead have formed their own 'private chat group'. It's really sad when you don't feel safe to post even a positive comment on there, someone is bound to start slinging mud or try to start an argument with you. And to be honest, Flyer fans, I really think our Nucks' fan forum has worse posters/trolls than yours, if you can imagine! LOL! Yes, they have sunk to new levels, which you may not have thought possible. Here are some of our comments regarding opposing teams fans' posts: "..its so sad to see that other teams fans have more respect for our team than our teams fans.." "Classier than we usually sound after a loss, I'd say. " "This board could take a lesson from their objectivity and common sense. "

Yes, I think the Hawks have a very good chance to win again this year, what a solid team.
