    So, on a prorated basis he's already reached -50? So I figure I will put a "Yandsie" name plate on my 80s jersey, along with -50 for a number, to go with the paper bag when I go to the game vs the Jets next Thursday.

    This is my view too. The two things are not mutually exclusive. Clarke, by his own admission, was a terrible GM because he had spent zero time around the game outside of an NHL rink and he felt that a GM had to have some sense of where talent came from. I'm also capable of laughing at Clarke's truly horrific communications, which the comment on Roger Neilsen's cancer exemplifies perfectly. He should never have been put in front of a microphone, like ever.

    Speaking of dropping, I wonder if anyone has done any analysis on the drop from the 2nd round to the 3rd or 4th? Asking for a friend. Like, I know it becomes even more of a crapshoot, but I can't help but think that a decade of not having 2nd round picks, because you traded them for ham sandwiches, has to have a statistically significant impact on whether you have players in your organization that might be able to make a 3 foot pass and do some of the other things required of an NHL-calibre player.

    The Jones EDM thing is just a rumour. Elliotte Friedman just mentioned Jones as a possible fix in net for the Oilers. He could have just as easily mentioned Rux as a possible fix. I mean, could it hurt? "Now in net for the Oilers, "Nasty Bear"
