Lol, he needs to be in the lineup though.

Couturier looked really good last night. He definitely didn't look like a guy who missed two years and he seemed like he got better and better as the game went on.
He looks fit, slimmer maybe?

From what I have read he did.
Can't say either way but from clips looks like he was food to go.
Atkinson showed some speed to and a scoring touch.
Hope they can at least trade Atkinson
Yeah for sure. And Lauts looked good, of course.

Really depends on if they think Coots can help their playoff run.
I thought Cooter looked good last night, but I didn't watch the whole game.

what's the deal with Poehling? how was he available on the cheap? He's got size, wheels, isn't a dumbass
I think the issue is that people expect first round picks to score goals and put up points in the NHL, regardless of whether they have that offensive upside or not. Poehling was never really that guy. He did ok in College hockey, but nothing in his game screams upside. He's also worked on his skating it appears. I like everything else about his game.

But Khusnutdinov doesn't have points yet in 6 played games of this season and already has transferred from one team to the other one. Kind of a slow start for him.
He was traded so should get some ice time. Similar story to Michkov.

Nope...., but that said, it ends the long running rumors that they both wanted out.
Yeah it does I guess. Amazing what money can do.

Helly's gonna be 37 at the end of this deal. That's getting up there. Lots of miles on those legs as it is. Has any goalie played more minutes these last few years?

Yeah got to waive Wade can't bream up the 4th Goon line...
It's a real shame. Wade is one of the great names of all time in my opinion.

Have the name right?
Yup. This guy, he's Ovechkin like in all kinds of ways, including a wicked shot. All world skills. Like I said, he dropped to 20th because he had Hodgkins lymphoma (plus the Russian factor). He was being talked about as a #1 overall in 2019:

Caps are getting old, and not much depth in the system
This is true, not a lot of high end talent in the pipeline.
But people have forgotten about Miroshnichenko. He fell to 22 because of the Hodgkins and then basically lost a year, but he is a high end talent. He was a consensus #1 or # 2 prospect prior to getting sick. Playing great in pre season apparently.

I think maybe this was misinterpreted. You see, when he's standing in front of the net looking for tips, he can turn his stick this way, or he can turn in that way. Two way player.

That was my opinion of Torts until he proved otherwise too. Briere doesn’t have a record or reputation per se so even though he is a former Flyer, I am willing to give him a chance. I absolutely love how he started by dumping the chafe and is starting from scratch. Flyers should be icing the youngest team in the NHL(other than Marc Staal who I look at as a playing coach). Honestly, just looking forward to watching real hockey again period.
The best decision DB has made so far was to not trade Laughts!

It held some clout a while back, but now with podcasts and social media alerts from insiders to me it's rather not important.
Good point.

I am quite surprised HFboards remains somewhat popular as on some rating sites it scores quite low.
I think it's because knowledgeable hockey people are still to be found there. Like scouts, some insiders I guess.
This place is more of an organic community because of the way it started.

Let's also not forget the multitude of coaches that tried to coach all the skill out of Sanheim. Let's begin with Dave Hakstol and his mantra that defenseman should NEVER lead rushes. That was Sanheim's bread and butter. Hakstol also didn't want him to handle the puck, but dump it off in a corner where a forward could chase it. The when that jackass was fired, they brought in Scott Gordon, who had no structure and just let Sanheim play pond hockey, yet Sanheim was incredible responsible. Which brings us to Vigneault, who them decided that Sanheim needed to be more physical, but use his skating ability to get the puck up to the blueline, but then had to drop back immediately into defensive coverage. Then along comes Yeo and he actually seemed like he was making serious progress with Sanheim, only for Brad Shaw to come along and screw everything up. So five coaches in six seasons, all different systems, all using him differently. Funny how no one else mentions that. This franchise is an absolute development killer. Look at how they ruined Provorov. Look at how they disposed of Gostisbehere. Look at what they did with Hagg. And to see some on here call Sanheim soft or Soyheim. **** them. Sanheim isn't the problem. Never has been. The problem has ALWAYS been development and usage.
I could not love you more than I do right now. Why, if you were a sheep, well...

Ya of course, that's why I said "what if". Just trying to stay positive going in to what will probably be a very long year.
Dumbest ever though? idk, I'm pretty old and remember some really dumb guys. I'd suggest maybe Tiger Williams. I still remember an interview with him where he said "metaphor? what's that a rock?" and it wasn't a joke.
Our own Moose Dupont would definitely be in the running as well.
Yeah, fair. RR is pretty dumb though, especially as a hockey player.

What if...Risto finally gets it?
Bwahahahahahahahaha!
He might be the dumbest hockey player to ever play in the NHL! He's a menace.
So, the only thing that can help him "get it" is a stellar D partner who makes up for his braindead mistakes. And I'm not seeing anyone that fits the bill. Staal is too old and too slow, for example, to do all that needs doing with Risto out there.
