I’m OK with this signing. Yandle isn’t flashy but I think he is pretty steady.
Yandle may break Doug Jarvis’ consecutive games played record this year. Actually, 3 guys may break it this year.
Jarvis - 964
Yandle - 922
Marleau - 910
Kessel - 900
I can’t believe nobody changed their profile picture to the legendary General Manager of the Flyers. I guess that will be left up to me…Just trying to fit in with the cool kids.
You take Oleksiak over Ghost for different reasons. They are polar opposite players playing the same position. Except for his size and physicality, I’m not so sure Oleksiak is better in the defensive zone than Ghost.
This was the biggest factor, IMHO. Most teams could not afford to make the waiver claim. And no, I don’t have the ability to go back in time to check teams’ cap space.
I think it was a knee-jerk reaction trade by Fletcher. Ghost had more value and could’ve brought back a player or pick(s) from a different team. Stupid move.
We’ll see what Fletcher does next with the cap space. I may be pessimistic, but I think he will NOT get the player he is looking for with the cap space.
I didn’t see Dunn play that much but thought he was on his way out of St. Louis early in the season due to inconsistent play. He was a healthy scratch for several games and I seem to remember him being on waivers at one point. I didn’t see him as a “no brainer” pick.
He was invisible in the playoffs.
I’m kind of on the fence about this. The Flyers would essentially give up 2 roster players and a draft pick for one player with significant injury history.
I’m OK with losing Patrick, but I didn’t want to lose Myers. Glad that Ellis is coming to Philly, though. We’ll have to see if the defense is markedly better this coming season.
