  1. I don't know what we'd be saying today if Bob had been in net. Maybe (i can "maybe" with anyone!) we would be saying "Alright! Bob should be our #1, scoreless tie and we actually WIN the stupid shootout for once!"

As far as my theory cutting both ways, you're right. But I would refer you to Aziz's post directly above. Of course it's a team game but when oh when does our "legit #1" steal us a win? Against the 29th team in the League...

The whole thing about goaltending last night is moot, obviously, when the guys don't score even 1 goal. Sure. And I know I'm reaching when I say "maybe if he makes that save things would've been different." But frankly right now I'm open to anything - any explanation for why Dubnyk outplays Bryzgalov and why Edmonton has our number...

I was at the game last night and both goals were right in front of me. First one not much he could do. Puck took a crazy bounce off the boards right on Hall's stick. Second one he should have had but the whole play should never of happened. Bad give away and no one went after Eberle. As far as Bryz, he actually played pretty well last night. Seemed a little more confident. Wasn't going down as quick on most plays and made a couple really nice saves. The Flyers played a parimeter game last night and never went to the net at all. With a goalie Dubnyk's size that's not going to cut it. As fas Bob, watched him in the warm up and he couldn't stop a beach ball in warm up. You can tell Bryz is frustrated with his game. Even in warm ups he was getting mad when the guys would score on him.

  2. Heading to the game tonight. It's seems like the 2 years took forever. Hope it's better than the last game here when the Oilers scored with less than a minute to play to beat the Flyers 1-0. Always a good game though. Place will be packed with Flyers fans. Last time they were here the Flyers fans were louder than the Oiler fans.

  3. Thank you for bringing this up. I've been thinking this for awhile. I got to watch Bryz a lot when he was in Phoenix and he was way calmer and smooth. What I mean by that is he used his size and cut down angles and rarely gave up rebounds. Now I see Smith in Phoenix and he looks exactly how Bryz use to. Now Bryz is all over the place. Way to much movement and making himself look way smaller in net. And Bob is the same way.

  4. You know I watched this last night it and anyone that has dealt with someone that has had depression, it really hit's home. It at times made me feel guilty for not understanding this illness enough. It really made me look at these athletes in a different light. Who would have thought a guy like Darryl Stawberry would be effected by this illness. The guy was one of the most talented baseball players I had ever seen. The guy had it all. But when you hear his name the thing that most people think of is his off field issues. I guess you never would have really thought that someone like him has been dealing with this for most of his life.

  5. How many games have we blown leads this year?? The last 4 games in a row they have blown a 2 goal lead. That is PATHETIC. There is a serious problem that needs to be addressed. I was criticized on this board a few games ago for calling them out on it but the facts are the facts. This team is pretty good overall but also has some big issues that need to be corrected or we are in for a lot more frustration and disappointment.

For some reason the Flyers don't go into a defensive mode when they are in the lead. They keep pressing on offense and it's killing them. How many odd man rushes in the third? It was terrible to watch.
  6. My whole view on Pinaccio and Carchidi is like everyone they know it's a bad contract. But it's like they need Bryz to play bad to justify thier opinion's. I also think that it is very easy for them to feed Bryz questions that are going to get him going. Like after the Tampa game asking him how he felt about his game. Come on the guy played terrible and he knows it so they keep pushing it right after the game. They knew exactly what they were going to get out of Bryz. I don't blame the Flyers for trying give the philly press less access to him. Right now they deserve it. Guys we all know it's a bad contract. But do I want the guy to fail because of it. Not a chance. I can't say the philly media feels the same way.

  7. Are you guys still concerned about "J"?????????

The one thing I am concerned about is that the Flyers said he had a Abdominal tear. I've had the same injury and those don't heal on there own. I had to get surgery and was back on the ice in 5 weeks. It's a weird injury to. It doesn't hurt all the time just certain movements. Which is why I can see him struggling. I found that I was in most pain when I was pushing off with my legs. A big part of JVR's game is along the boards and that has to be bothering him a bit. I heard an interesting interview with Ryan Whitney a couple of weeks ago and he was talking about his ankle injury and how hard it is to concentrate on the ice at all time's when your always in pain. I can totally see it in JVR.
  8. Why do the Philly media feel that it's such a slap in the face if he doesn't talk to the media after a game. I just don't get it. Go ask someone else questions if the guy doesn't want to talk. I find it kind of funny the difference in media in places like Philly and Toronto compared to Edmonton, Calgary or even Vancouver. From what I've seen is that the media shows so much more respect to the players in these markets. Is it because a guy like Bryz or Pronger can write a story for them with there quotes? It was the end of the world after the game on twitter because they couldn't talk to Bryz. I don't know. Just something I've noticed over the last little while. Even more so with twitter.

  9. I know the defense had a couple of lapses there at the end, but can Bryz stop nothing??? When you can see the guy setting up to shoot, you should have a pretty decent chance to stop the puck. There was no deflection, no traffic. That Seabrook shot looked really weak too.

Really? Sorry but this wasn't on Bryz. First was a nice tip. Second goal Timmo took Bryz out right before the shot. Third goal tipped off Coby's stick. Fourth goal? Kane left alone in the slot scores that goal 9 out 10 times. I agree that he has to get better but tonight was on the D around him.

  10. Shenn for Sarich? Your kidding right. You don't trade a guy like Shenn for a D man that isn't going to crack your top 4. I don't think the Flyers are going to panic. Look for a for good 5-6 defensemen. Probably off a team like the Canes.
