As a guy with herniated discs, I can tell you that I am trying to avoid surgery at all costs. Eventually when I can’t deal with the pain anymore I will have surgery but only then. I don’t blame Coots for trying to avoid it. There are just too many chances for mistakes or complications.

I am looking forward to watching the parade of young guys that Tortorella continues to get energy out of. They continue to outperform every and all expectations and have made watching Flyers hockey exciting again. Caveat, I know nothing about hockey but I pretend to post like I do. That is all……

Pretty good overall effort from a tired team on the 2 game of b2b. Not sure why people want Deslauriers and Allison out but give a pass to JVR and Hayes. Two of those players try every shift and two of them float. Anybody watching the game knows which are which. Braun keeps showing me every game he plays that he should be the popcorn guy for Homer and Bobby. Kudos to Sandstrom for playing a very solid game with not a lot of support. Seeler had a decent game too for a change. I would rate him higher than Braun but that is a very low bar…….

DeAngelo twice left Stamkos open on the point of the PP. He looked good other than that and blocked a few shots that took some guts. I am not a Seeler or Braun fan. I would prefer Risto to either one of those two.

I will actually be happy if he replaces Braun……..

I think torts is keeping things fresh and trying to make sure certain bad tendencies are not rewarded. Hell, in reality he is going to be evaluating this team for months to come. I very much like the effort most of this team is putting out. It makes for watchable hockey which we have not seen here for years.

I expected nothing less from you than honesty as always. Had to listen to the game and it seemed they spent too much time playing in the wrong zone. Happy to see them win but not putting a whole lot of faith in them. I will absolutely love to eat crow on that. Back in Pa rux if you would like to get together for a beer or 3.

True statement. Spend most of my time in Florida and have barely followed the Flyers this season much less the Phantoms. I thought Sammuellson was the Phantom Coach.

I don’t understand how his work ethic as a player would be a bad thing. You have to change the current culture of the team which has not been worth a damn since Lappy left as a player. He was also dealing with the inmates who were running the asylum. You are going to be hard pressed to get Trotz here when you have no current plan in place to improve this team. I would love Trotz to be here but realistically unless they give him total control it ain’t happening.

I would not be against that at all. He would bring accountability back to the team. His work ethic as a player was legendary. I wouldn’t want him running the pp but as the guy running the overall ship you could do a lot worse. I would still want Trotz as the first choice due mainly to his experience.

Right now I would be happy with a soup sandwich over what we have seen for the last 10 years (at least). I personally think Trotz would be a solid choice. He is going to have a young team to work with and be able to shape them to his liking. This is finally going to be a young team with only a few choice veterans. I can’t express just how happy I was to see Yandle hugging everyone goodbye after the final game of the season. I am sick and tired of watching the flyers try and plug and play with a veteran who is so long in the tooth that they have fallen out……

I loved Rick Tocchet as a player but I would prefer Brindamour a coach. They actually played like a team last night. Was nice to see Wellman score too. Hart played the type of game he is going to have to for this team to win with any kind of consistency. Even Ristolainen and his body double (Connaughton)made some great plays.

Well the Flyers are more likely to score shorthanded goals so Giroux on the pk makes sense…….

I think the shield he is wearing from taking the shot in his face the other night really exasperated his play last night. That said, he has still been off most of the season. Looking forward to them actually attacking the zone instead of waiting for the entire defense to get set up before entering.

Been waiting for this to happen for the last month. Can we please stop dropping the puck back for 6 or 8 passes before even attempting to enter the zone? Silly little things like that drove me insane…..probably why we have more short handed goals than pp. At least it feels this way.
