  1. There should be at least one SOLID defensemen available at 11. I hold on to that pick.
  2. I didnt see anything of the sort posted in this thread so I am scratching my head here TF83 but for what it's worth I will say this about Hartnell, you will not find another player who has more heart or bleeds more orange and black than he does. Harts is a lot of things, only a few of them bad in my opinion, and the guy never takes a shift off, leaves it all on the ice, and will square off with anyone in defense of himself or a team mate. I'll take that on my team ANY DAY. (Even if he is overpaid.)
  3. I agree with this but now that Detroit is in the east I dont want to see it happen! I t makes Detroit that much more of dangerous team, especially in the playoffs. Send Vinny out west please!
  4. I'm pretty sure he meant in addition to the 11th pick, so we would trade the players to get the 6th and keep the 11th.
  5. SEE MY COMMENTS IN CAPS
  6. Even Pens fans are tired of looking at that face!
  7. pass on both unless the price is extremely reasonable.
  8. Obviously in retropsect that is a no brainer, but I'm still not sure what this has to do with the Pens goalie situation?
  9. I think you missed my point. If you were a Pens fan, would you be confident that the Fleury/Vokoun combo is gonna back stop you to a cup?
  10. Yeah, that is how I took it and FC is on the money with his clever post. I suspect it wont even take until the start of the season for Flyers fans are calling for a lynching! I am guessinng your wink indicates sarcasm because I cant imagine an intelligent hockey fan like yourself (well intelligent for a Pens fan anyway! (had to throw a jab in there!)) can not be totally comfortable with a Fleury/Vokoun combo. Dont worry it's still better than we got! Mason + ?? (Rumor has it Luongo, which depending on the deal I would be ok with, but knowing Homer, I am not going to be happy with the deal!)
  11. yes, but given your goalie situation you can't be laughing too hard!
  12. Cheers Danny boy! Thanks for some great memories. I'd love to see him back here in a year or 2 and retire a Flyer. (At a huge hometown discount of course! I'm talking league minimum!)
  13. My first acid trip made a hell of a lot more sense than that post.
  14. Plan A was Pronger, then Weber, then Suter, so we are actually at Plan D for a top D-man, how appropriate. In reality, for those of us who have been around long enough, I think we are close to plan Z.
  15. Given the cap is going down, how much more of a cap hit do you think another team would have been willing to make? I don't think many teams out there would have spent much more than 9.5 mil per year. I'm not saying the Pens over paid, but I think they paid close to fair market value for him and certainly didn't get a hometown "steal." The value however is in that the Pens keep the major components of a close knit core together.
  16. I just want a good long series, and if tonight's game was any indication, that is exactlywhat we are gonna get! What a game! Oh, and Bruins in 7.
  17. We have been in your shoes and worse (getting swept in the SCF in 97 REALLY sucked.) so many times Polaris that if anyone can empathize with a heart broken hockey fan, it's a Flyers fan!!! I feel for you man.
  18. That is a spot on and honest assessment as hard as it may be for a Pens fan so kudos to you. Also kudos for not whining about the non call on the hook on Malkin. It doesnt do any good to whine about it but you would have every right to 'cause that was definitely a penalty.
  19. http://video.nhl.com...id=nhl:topheads You know you are in trouble when you have an ex-Flyer giving you advice...
  20. Ok, so the Pens are down 2-0, not the end of the world as a Pens fan but definitely reason for concern. (For the record, I could see the Pens winning 2 in Boston) Anyhow, in my opinion there are 2 ways to look at the situation the Pens are in right now. 1. The Pens players arent playing their system well and the players the themselves are playing poorly with not enough effort. 2.The Pens players are playing with plenty of effort and trying to apply their system but the Bruins are neutralizing the Pens system and Dan Bylsma has to make adjustments. I have not seen enough of thegames to make an asessment of the Pens effort myself but I would be surprised if #1 was the case and would guess that it more comes down to adjusting the game plan to fully utilize the all star talent on the Pens roster and beat the Bruins at their own game. So if you are Bylsma, what adjustments do you make and who do you start in goal??
  21. Everyone seems to love Jonathan Quick, but IMO the kid is a bigger cry baby than Syd when he first was in the league. The Sharks score 2 clean goals tonight and the little toddler cries like someone took away his lollipop. Good for the ref for hitting him with unsportmanslike penalties. He's a good goal tender but the kid needs to grow up.
  22. The NHL responded....with a $100k fine!!!! WTF? "I am the NHL, you cant say anything to contradict me! Waaaa!! Waaa!!" What a freaking joke this league as become.
