  1. Suffice it to say, Sokolov's days with the Wild are probably done. The team just wasn't going to wait any longer for him to get it.
  2. 2020-21 Minnesota Wild Season Preview I wrote up my own extended preview of the upcoming season. I talk about the roster, line combinations and I provide predictions as well. Enjoy and discuss!
  3. 2020-21 Wild Fans Speak Pre-Season Edition, Part 3 of 3 Here is the last part. It was another fun group of people to work with. Enjoy and discuss!
  4. 2020-21 Wild Fans Speak Pre-Season Edition, Part 2 of 3 The conversation continues here. I am not sure if any of those guys will get much of a shot this season with the Wild Icechipper, if they do that probably means things have really gone off the rails. Rossi I think will stay and play in Europe. I'd like to see Luke Johnson or Matt Bartkowski get more of a shot but barring an injury to Soucy or Rask I don't see it happening.
  5. Wild Fans Speak 2020-21 Pre-Season Edition, Part 1 of 3 So folks its that time of year where I talk to a group of fans to get their perspective of how they see the team going into this next season. I asked 6 fans, 6 questions about the club and its future. With teams practicing a bit before training camp is set to begin right around the new year NHL hockey is right around the corner. Here is what they had to say. I'll post the next article in a few days from now but enjoy and discuss. @DJ Ricky
  6. Most of what I'm seeing and reading, would indicate the team will probably let him keep developing in the Swiss National League where he'll get more ice time and opportunity. Not saying I wouldn't want to see Rossi, but I think that might be how the team works the situation given the fact its a truncated season likely to be played in bubbles like it was last year.
  7. (shrugs) Not suggesting he's going to bail the team out. Yet it probably gives him perhaps a chance to slot into the lineup so he can do something for us. It's tough to do that if he's rarely ever given a chance to do so. I think the skating; and lack of speed is really the main issue. He actually handles the puck fairly well and has decent instincts, but I think the team wants to be a faster, up tempo squad so which is why he feels terribly misplaced. The league has a whole wants to continue to be faster and younger.
  8. (sigh) But honestly...who cares? Zuccarello is now out. Darn. I am sure we can find another player that can disappoint for a lot less than Zucc currently does. IMO, the person that should be happiest is Victor Rask because now it puts him a little closer to a playing spot with the club.
  9. Its not about what anyone wants. IMO, the owners should abide by their agreement they made in the summer. They can't move the goalposts now. I am with the players on this one.
  10. Johansson isn't really at his best as a center. I think its going to be a bit of a cluster to say the least. The only bright side is if none of them can really do what is needed you'll have plenty of space and roster spots available to try again next season.
  11. I see studies that say they do protect both the wearer and others. Studies and statistics can be spun to proven anything you want. Still, in general its better to wear a mask than not do so. Not sure why it has to continually be brought up here. Rossi is still waiting to play another game and now is supposedly training with the Austrian WJC entry. I'd rather have him playing games but things are what they are.
  12. Me if you're up to it. I can think of a bunch of people. MN Wild Prospects who do a lot of prospect updates Brett Marshall Sarah McLellan Tom Hoen Tony Abbott Just to name a few.
  13. Glad to hear that you enjoyed it, and with Marco Rossi playing in Switzerland I think that bodes well for his development as well as being ready to go whenever the NHL season gets underway.
  14. I am not sure I quite agree with that last part. For you, fortunately the effect has been rather mild. But for someone else they end up with permanent heart damage or lung damage or other issues. I have a friend who caught it back in March, and he's pretty much wrecked. Heart has been severely weakened, kind of similar in effect to like a super Lyme's Disease. He can't do much of anything now. IMO, while its easier for a person like yourself who seems not to be all that effected to just have everything be normal. For others you're flirting with permanent damage or worse. I'm not sure I'd want to risk that.
  15. The NHL Postpones the 2021 NHL Winter Classic and why it may not be such a bad deal for Wild Fans With how messed up 2020 has been this was no real surprise of an announcement by the league, but when you think about it more it might not be so bad at all for the Minnesota Wild and any fan that is planning on forking over the $$$ to attend. Check it out!
  16. Wild Sign Defenseman Ian McCoshen and other Wild news, Emrick and Hartman tributes too The Iowa Wild roster is pretty much set now minus one more signing. McCoshen probably won't provide a lot of offense but they probably don't care either. Enjoy and discuss.
  17. The Wild started something...but accomplished a whole lot of nothing.
  18. But now they're all nice potential trading pieces if the team is indeed sub-par by trade deadline time.
  19. I heard Khudobin has already indicated he'd be interested in playing Vancouver. He said he likes the city and the way of life there.
  20. Minnesota Wild trade Kunin for Bonino as the team stockpilles talent on Day 2 of the NHL Draft I have full coverage of the players selected in Day 2 of the draft. Analysis, scout quotes, highlights and more...check it out!
  21. That's entirely true about the #1 & #2 center spots for sure. Its an open audition at this point.
  22. Marat Khusnutdinov profile... I talked about this kid in my Sleepers and Steals article. You can see a more detailed profile in the link. I will have an even more detailed article once I'm done going through the Day 2 picks.
  23. (shrugs) Even if he lit up teams like North Bay and Kingston, 132 points can't all just be from playing two teams. I think the defensive forward comment would make me more skeptical if he didn't have the production. IMO, then it would be a crutch to justify the milquetoast production. But he was a big-time offensive producer and he played responsible defensively.
