  1. edit: I saw a related video after I watched the fight where Sestito scored, got an assist and a fight. The announcer in the video seemed to be pretty high on him. The post game interview, I guess it was with the coach, was talking as if they had themselves a high powered player and not just a tough guy call up. Don't get me wrong, I really like Sestito and I'm glad he cracked the lineup, but I was just taken a little by the way he's portrayed in this video. good for him!
  2. ahhh the memories! definitely my favorite Flyer then and now. thanks for the link
  3. now you're just being ignorant for the sake of it. First things first, I shall invite you to go back to school and learn to read. from my first post: "Nice fight. That said, why the f*uck is he dropping the gloves? I love the rough stuff and fighting BUT he has no business fighting. First Jake hurts his knee and now Simmonds puts his hands, wrists, and knees (and I guess face) at risk by fighting?" I'm just not all that keen on seeing Flyers who I enjoy watching and feel can be a help to the Flyers risking themselves fighting for a team that ISN'T the Flyers. I was expecting you to get that and just in case you didn't (which clearly you didn't), from my second post: "he should go whack off before and after a game if that's the goal. Personally, I'd rather he stay healthy then concern himself with managing his "man juices". But if it's more important to you that his juices flow... that's cool I guess ;P" oh, pro tip, you are supposed to focus on the parts that I bolded so you can clearly see that you are in fact remaining ignorant for the sake of it. In any event, I'm glad you are so in touch with the softer sports and more importantly who is airing them and when, keep it up bud, it truly helps your look and your point. keep trying though my friend, your effort is at the very least... well, I'll let you figure that one out since you seem so adept at all things observations. You keep focusing on those "man juices" friend, it clearly suits you well cheers mate!
  4. he should go whack off before and after a game if that's the goal. Personally, I'd rather he stay healthy then concern himself with managing his "man juices". But if it's more important to you that his juices flow... that's cool I guess ;P
  5. amen! is it really worth it to go play over there? I know the insurance is in place in case they get hurt but I don't really know how it works. Do these players have to take insurance policy's out on themselves and it is the insurer who pays their salary as opposed to the Flyers in the event they DO get hurt?
  6. Nice fight. That said, why the f*uck is he dropping the gloves? I love the rough stuff and fighting BUT he has no business fighting. First Jake hurts his knee and now Simmonds puts his hands, wrists, and knees (and I guess face) at risk by fighting?
  7. I voted yes I will watch but not attend games. I'm not boycotting going though because of the lockout, the cost of going is what keeps me from going. I can afford it, but I don't think the prices they charge to go, PARK, eat and drink there is worth it. My TV at home is a good one and I can buy a REALLY nice case of beer and quadruple the amount of food to enjoy it at home. Plus I don't have to deal with the commute and traffic, which is especially painful when they lose. I miss it for sure, used to have partial season tickets about 10 years ago, but now I don't agree with the prices so I don't go. when they get back to playing I will watch. It sucks they are going through this but I understand business is business. I also don't expect either side to compromise their stance because they feel bad for the fans and nor would I expect them to, if they did that would be HORRIBLE negotiating. I'll let them sort it out and when they get back to playing, I'll get back to watching.
  8. my vote was yes. I also agree with what most are saying about both sides of the coin really though. If he is out there with the mentality of delivering the big hit all the time then yeah, he will struggle to keep himself in the play. Outside of that, the only OTHER thing that concerns me is his rep with the refs. I thought he had way too many call go against him for plays that I believed others wouldn't get called for. I can't see too many of those happening on the PK though so it wouldn't be that much of an issue. He has the speed and agility. He has decent hands as well so being able to get in there, seperate the player from the puck and then move it ahead/out should be something he can dial into
  9. I couldn't believe it so I had to check. I don't know what nhl.com or team sites you go to but all of the players that I tried to find on both NHL.com AND http://flyers.nhl.com/club/roster.htm were still intact. doesn't change the point though to which I agree.
  10. you keep headed towards positivity and you'll have your Flyers Fan Card revoked
  11. yeah, unfortunately hopeful is the only choice we have. Love him or hate him... the man is the Flyers goalie
  12. agreed on all points. one of my favorites among many (love goalie mask paint schemes) is this one: says everything you need. the guy plays for the Sharks and is cooler than cool. I do like the new Bryz tiger mask better than the last one though simply because the artwork is better.
  13. $4.75 mil for 6 years = $28.5 total $5.50 mil for 5 years = $27.5 total well, that may amount to less per year, but as you can see, if he held out for the $5.5 listed in the OP, he really doesn't stand to make "more" money, just more per year but at the end of the deal he'd end up with less. And that's just for 1 season less than the current deal. I'm not seeing how he screwed himself with this deal. if that 5.5 was 5.75 at the same length then we're talking about a quarter mil more than the deal he signed. If he'd be able to get even more than that, would have have gotten the length? $6mil for 4 years is only $24 mil and 6.5 is only good for 26, so it's still less overall than he'd get with this deal. This way he gets more money overall, gets to stay a Flyer until he's 37 and doesn't hinder the team in terms of cap hit. Everybody wins. What's the problem again?
  14. that is always one thing I thought was kinda cool, the entire city has the same theme going on. I'm so used to seeing my football team in green and my baseball in red and my hockey in orange that I don't think I could look at it any other way but when I realized that Pitts had the same colors for all of their teams I thought it was pretty cool. Any other city have all of their major franchise's rocking the same color scheme?
  15. see, and I'm the opposite. I hate when teams have "colors" but then they go with a black uniform with the team's "colors" used merely as accent pieces. Or when they had perfectly fine colors and switch to black because for a time it was "cool" (looking at you buffalo... at least they came to their senses eventually) I for one HATED WITH A PASSION!!!!! when the Flyers had just the black jerseys and the whites with no orange. and I was happier than ever when they ditched those uni's and went back to orange. Wasn't a fan of the futuristic orange jersey and am definitely a fan of the 'traffic cone orange' they have now. I know they are referred to as the O&B but how in the world did they ever justify dropping the "O" for all those years? I'll never know. If I was a Pens fan, the only thing that would bother me about the jersey you oppose is it looks very similar to the Bruins yellow jersey. But then again, what are you gonna do? they have the same damn colors.
  16. eh hem, Fedotenko is a Flyer again, no need to showcase his name in other colors
  17. amen, they aren't getting my click either...
  18. http://www.hockeyfights.com/originals/story/catching-up-with-riley-cote a short little interview I just bumped into.
  19. amen brotha, and when there's so little to actually discuss (man this off season is slow!!!) we have very little other than straws to grasp at. I'm just having fun with ya because you wrote this whole thing criticizing making moves and wanting to stand pat (which I agreed with the standing pat at this point thing) and of all people, you're the one bringing up signing this guy or that. Not that you aren't allowed to bring this stuff up, again, just breaking balls. hope you're having a great summer!
