  1. Trade him if possible... keep him if not. I don't think they could afford to buy him out.

I just think his time is done in that city... kind of like Luongo I guess. Too many bad memories now.

I think Vokoun showed that all they need is someone steady to be competitive. And I don't think that Fleury fits that bill.

  2. @fishbulb

Clear kicking motion by Morrow?? Are you nuts? Did you see how fast that play happened in real time? Turning your skates to cut in front of the net is hardly a kicking motion. So he deflected the puck with his stick knowing it would go to his skate and kicked it in with his lightning reflexes?? Good grief man...

Only the Sens announcers felt it was kicking. Even the NBC morons felt it was pretty clean. Bear in mind you ARE allowed to direct your skate but I don't think Morrow even had time to do that.

Easy tiger... I think he kicked it and I don't care about "real time"... I also included review personel in the discussion... see it up there? I've seen less obvious kicks called back for some reason.... I've seen more obvious ones allowed. It's one example of the inconsistency being allowed.

I'm sorry for even thinking... let alone saying something negative about the pens.

  3. Seriously... what is going on this year?? Sure it's easy to dump on refs. They've got a thankless job and a hard job at that, but come on. I don't remember there ever being this many boneheaded/blown calls before.

Is it the improved camera work? Do we just 'catch' more of these mistakes that were always there?

LA Kings got ROBBED the other night when a loose puck was blown dead 0.1 secs after it barely touched niemi... the thing was clearly loose and was rolling right through him into the net.

SENS got boned on a pretty clear kicking motion last night by Brenden Morrow. Would it have saved the sens series for them? No, but it still looked pretty clearly like the same "forward motion" they've called for years. (look at :36 and :44 secs)

And don't forget the 12 feet offside call missed this year against the Predators.... no way a professional referee should have missed this.

AND OF COURSE.... you can't criticize or argue with them.

Something's wrong here... these guys are on par with the NFL's replacement refs.

We always will be the '4th' major sport... but this situation is not helping.

  4. I think with the way he plays... with the desperation he plays with... and the intensity it must take to perform like he does?... i wouldn't give a **** if he sacrificed virgins after losses. The guy is a stud.

  5. You don't start the debate on our defense budget, and I won't point out that your defense budget comes from rich Chinese pockets.

But booing an anthem because of a sport is just stupid... immature and stupid. Boo their logo, players... whatever. But I don't see the good in booing an anthem.

  6. I believe Mr. Lemelin was replaced by Jeff Reese a few years back ;-pp

As far as my opinion about the recent showing??... Meltzer summed it up best... even an ahl defense can

look competent when the forwards are helping and a timely save is made.

I'd like a new coach, but none of the options look good.

I'd like a new GM... but ditto.

Breez and Danny need to be gone, but Breez isn't :-(

We really f'd up getting a top end pick, but hopefully a solid dman will be found.

There are some great young pieces here... hopefully they'll still be here in the fall.

  7. I love reading "edited" and wondering... what did he edit???

People think you're a troll b/c you're way off base toughguy. Instead of just writing what you think, you tend to try and put words in people's mouths. ie) "he's russian and that's why you don't like him."

Nobody is satisfied with this team right now. Just because someone disagrees with you, doesn't mean they like what is happening. They just feel there is a more logical fix.

  8. imo Mckinnon's game transfers beautifully to the NHL b/c of his style of play.... straight ahead. He's meat and potatoes with a bit of spice and that still works at the NHL level.

And yes, of course they take the next best player.. ie) Drouin or Mckinnon. You don't take a #5/6 pick like Nurse if you are in the #2-3 spot.

Drafting a rookie D-man is not going to "fix" our blueline. It'll need more than that. You only take Nurse or another d-man if you're at the 4-6 spot or you've traded down.

  9. Never really thought about the benching/accountability issue like that... gotta say though that there must be a more moderate comparison than Torts.. he's so polar opposite of what is going on. Also, his methods don't exactly work all the time or for long time. He's the modern day Keenan.

I do wish there was more accountability though. I think it starts at the top. To bench/criticize a player seems to be taken as a slight towards Homer... which is taken as a slight to Snider... and therefore not done.

  10. Maybe he needs to sit in the press box one game. He did not bring even a d game to the table let alone an A one. We need him to be the leader by example if gets to look down on the play he might say they need me and show up next game.

There is absolutely ZERO chance he sits for a game. Zero. I know what you're saying, but it just won't happen.

I could see Lavi giving his ice-time a cut, or having him miss a shift or two, but scratching him? Nope.
