  1. You being tired of the fact that I have hardly heard anyone asking for Hexy back is not something I have seen on this forum. Forgetting is something "you" are doing and I am VERY CLEAR in thought that he brought in JVR and since you forgot "why" he did, it was because we were inching closer to advancing to the next level in bringing in contracts of players that can assist in scoring goals. JVR was paid market value and wasn't attained giving away 2nd rounders or other "favors" to get him. It was a move made to improve our scoring. We still were not completely there to compete for a Stanley Cup but it was there to help us advance in the playoffs and give our young players experience in the playoffs(Konecny, Lindblom, Patrick ,Provorov, Myers, Sanheim). All those would gain valuable experience so that by the following year or two, we could go out and get a big ticket player when our young core was hitting on all cylinders with our vets: Claude, Jake, Coots, Simmonds and JVR. Hextall's plan is a solid plan and a realistic plan ever since the spending Cap came into existance. NO CAP! Our "youth" was playing in the NHL our "draft players" needed to play in the AHL and become "hungry" to earn their time to advance to the NHL. We weren't getting top 3 picks every year and hit the lottery in getting second overall pick once. And Patrick did come in early, which now we see was a mistake. His plan was solid, the other shenanigan's of not allowing alumni/family to "hang out" or "other" rules/diet is subjective. We were in a desirable position of having high youthful prospects, cap space and players trending upward. Stupidly, completely false, quit pulling BS out your Tate. Fletch even "GUSSSSSSHED" How he was in a DEEESIIIIRRREABLE position of having: 1. Talent 2. CAP 3. High prospects that he inherited as a Dream GM job; Everything was placed on the mantle to "Send it" He knew he couldn't get rid of JVR so he took out Oscar, full stop. He believed he couldn't move JVR, he wanted to, but that doesn't change the market. He was never into Gaudreau, He also knew it wasn't happening, he would of maybe wanted to wish to get him...but no. Him not moving JVR doesn't make him an idiot, it's just incompetent. Now the other choices he has made sure puts him in that category. As much as Fletcher has screwed things up; to his defense, his player acquisitions were cerebral and had things steered the right way, we might of even had a chance to win a Cup or at least make the Stanley Cup Playoffs; prior to global Spanish Flu worldwide pandemic, Vegas had us at the better odds to win it. C'est la vie
  2. We were five years away, then three years from being three years away. It's been elven years now and we're at -2 years away from restarting and blowing it all up. I think if we stayed with Hextall we would of built through the draft and see some hits and misses, had allot of Cap space, had some vets and contracts at hand to use up. Having Hackstol coaching, we might of been able also to pick in the top 3 for several seasons. Rebuilding without the expressed consent to rebuilding our team. Being competitive to make the playoffs but not pushing the needle till we had established solid youth/contracts shored up to then go out and get a Money Player/s. That was the plan and blueprint Hextall laid out. We are now overbudget, over-bloated(Contractually) and overwhelmed with uncertainty. What happened to the Aggressive Retool? We got rid of Oscar, really? for what? To get a couple 4th liners?
  3. Flyers win the 1st overall pick for 2023!....Quantum Leap....
  4. Were you able to get the cha cha cha chia? Or they where gone by the time you got in?
  5. "Tuffness" Ever since we traded away Rinaldo, our toughness boat sprung a leak. Simmonds was the last whole that sunk the ship. We now have Risto, if we can get Morin back in the roster. Or we can feed our roster corn and douse it with Da Bomb hot sauce, and have them exude with high energy and Heat Anger, when they hit the ice. Fixed.
  6. I will say N.AK played a better game against the Oilers, I am disappointed though that it seems that no one in the past would pass him the puck to start a give and go, and I would see him dish it out and look for the return pass to start a cycle and there would be no takers. I saw this last year so many times and this year it seems to be continuing and I think towards last year it seemed to change his game somewhat and the bad penalties started to creep in. That's why I hope Brassard can center the line where he is on because Bressard seems to have the vision of when to pass to his winger and give and take. Not excusing any bad penalties, but I don't like seeing players dejected over and over, even micro-dejections can add up.
  7. I think his last surgery was a cleanup on isle 4. There seemed to be a little bit of spillage in his knee, that "kneeded" to be removed.
  8. Too bad Savard can't be Mr. Potato Head, so I could switch his arms around to play LD.
  9. How about Sanheim for Savard. Risto plays well with a stay at home Dman. I still want to see Morin and Risto. Morin was the stay at home Dman with Ghost, so he knows that role, but on the flip side Morin does also know some offense and has joined rushes at times when he sees he's clear to go green.
  10. Ya at first when I heard it, I was....what the huuck!(in beaver face) but that's the thing....this song is soo Rick Rolled-isc' that if we hate it, how much more funny/funner is it going to be to sling this pooh song to our competition every time we score a goal on them. It's like someone took a dump(the goal song) and flung it in the air and we Lacrossed it toward our enemies....face.... It's meme awful, but in a good way as long as it don't hit us.... Just picture yourself shimming your shoulders in a Vogue way, with an indifference face(look) at your competition as you just lit them up on a goal. And it becomes passable.....but only for 3-5 seconds at most....
  11. I wonder where the goals will come from with Haysey out? I know not many are high on Brassard but, if a line of Laughton, Brassard, N.AK would be sweet.
  12. If I could chime in and say, you are in the right place to teach your kids to be tough, but more importantly is to be a loving person as well, having to balance the two is the tallest task. They don't teach life skills in school. Though it's you against social media, Tik Tok Turrets and Instagram insatiability, you are on top of a world war z wall while trying to pull up your kids to safety as they don't see the trouble coming up on them. I wish you well. All you can do is show Love and Strength. Think of all the things your father put in during your times that you grew up, and reflect now, what at the end, ended up sticking in how you see life. Cheers.
  13. Man...this year is gonna be somethin' ! .......somethin'
  14. Risto played a better game when he was paired with a defensive Defenseman, who in our stable would be his defensive defenseman pairing then? Now there is a chance that he accepts and learns how to play the AV way, but that might be a swim upstream type of effort for him, not that he can't but it might make the job the Flyers are trying to accomplish much more difficult.
  15. The one thing I can say for certain is that the locker room has had a positive impact makeover. The players that left in one way or the other had issues either with being part of the collective think, late to practices with different coaches, self thought, complacency as the new norm, and slight entitlement and over-worth. These elements are gone, there might be a sliver of particles left in there but enough group dynamic has changed that with the new acquisitions and team helping out the new players get acclimated to this coaching system and chemistry, has caused all the team to group together with purpose and less negative distraction. It feels like everyone thinks they're coming in with a new slate and things to prove. I would say that carries over for the first ten games and then from there things will settle in and we can see how this team starts to play and how the new leadership kicks in and takes affect. I think Risto needs to be paired with a defensive defenseman to help his case as a pairing. Only Left Defenseman that makes sense is Morin. Braun is a righty and Sanheim is more offensive than defensive. This makes configured sense: Provy/ Ellis San/Braun Morin/Risto (though I would hate for Yandle to loose his ironman status.) So it would most likely be at the start: Provy/ Ellis San/Risto Yandle/Braun Stay safe and beware of Road Rage.
  16. Ya that's more damming........than I wanted to show as high risk and low reward. It is factual though.
  17. The move I will back up as very risky is the backup goalie position, he's the last line of defense and if Hart goes down and has problems and the backup goalie Jones repeats his last year performance, that will cause a big ripple affect to the team, and they will most likely, forcibly have to alter their play style and that can cause a possible derail to the season. Defensemen can be swapped in, the goalie position will have to be Hailed Mary for the remainder of the season unless an AHLer can step up, or they emergency sign and overpay a goalie mid-season and beyond. If all the After Market parts can slip in AND WORK! together as per manufacture specifications, then this could be a fun and solid team to see and root for as they step into the Stanley Cup Playoffs and then some.
  18. And as was said....ya let someone else come by and Reap our Rewards....
  19. Why so many debbie downers. Talk about short term memory.....Coots at 35+ will score hat tricks, silly girl. He scored a hat trick in the Playoff on one leg! He should have both legs available in his wrong side of 30's and if he doesn't then we can Chris Pronger this conversation to LTIR him then. Chill Wiggens...chill.
