  1. @murraycraven Sadly I think you are right..... I am wondering when the optimism wears off for me lol.
  2. @Lindbergh31 I actually miss the goalie controversy lol. I think Emery may stun some people, but if Mason can regain his Calder form, we may have a nice goalie for years to come.
  3. @radoran "Methinks one might be giving far too too much credit to Kuato for being the only one of his kind." That is a scary thought right there.
  4. @hf101 "Enough guys. Kuato is not posting here." That is debatable, but I do digress....
  5. When he did play, I like what I saw. I think he will be good if he can stay healthy. However, with the current cap situation and the log jam on D. I think he should play in the A this year and get his game back. Then maybe next year after Timo is off the books the coaching staff can get a better look at him.
  6. "Hockey has periods not quarters" What are we going to hear next? Faceoff specialists are like long snappers? I smell the stench of Kuato from where I am sitting. In any case, I think that Reese may be able to inspire healthy competition from the Flyers two current goalies. I am not sure how helping Mason out means getting him to play deeper in the net, but time will tell.
  7. @Poulin20 @Adamflyers Great work as usual guys! Thank you for giving us all an insight to the behind the scenes stuff. I am particularly interested in Laughton and it sounds like 2/3 rds of the brass are high on him. I wonder if he is an impact player that this would make Couturier more expendable?
  8. @flyercanuck @Quint I absolutely love reading about the old WHA. I never seen the Blazers play as they pre-date me, but I did have an old WHA Blanket when I was a kid that had all the teams. I think it was a hand me down from an older sibling.
  9. meh, I'd pass. Burrows is getting up there in age and the salary coming back is high considering where the Flyers currently sit cap wise. Hansen is interesting and the pick is very nice too. Not a terrible proposal in the least, but I think Schenn has far more value with this team.
  10. @Quint "Some how I think there was some context removed from that discussion with the police officer too." Well it was a one sided version that he gave, so I imagine you are correct. I have many friends that are police officers and most would not impound a vehicle under his presented circumstances. He was probably very obnoxious towards the office. I think a good tell of his character is: A) cheap'd down a charity B) Had to call his secretary to call his wife That's just my two-cents. Although the desk found a loving home and it's a cool story despite the underlined pretension.
  11. I like the comments on the board. Didn't want Kelly's autograph, had his secretary call his wife, low balled a charity out of $75........ Cool story and even cooler desk, but I would have paid double to have that desk in my office.
  12. Funny thing the blogger forgot to mention, his beloved team has had an abundance of star power through the draft yet cannot sniff the post season. Sound like somebody with the initials BR wrote this steaming pile. Miller or Thomas in Philly? C'mon even a Pens blogger would say that's a stretch. Have the Flyers become the Eric von Stroheim of the NHL?
  13. I hope this isn't another (dare I say) Upshall situation. They'll trade Meszaros, but have to throw in a 2nd just to shed salary. In return we get somebody like Adam Burish. The sad thing is, there are 29 other GMs that happen to be aware of the Flyers situation regarding the cap. Any movement isn't going to come cheap.
  14. "He's not a defensively savvy player. He's not particularly physical. Heck, he's not even a face-off specialist (which is hockey's equivalent to a long snapper)."Absolute GOLD Jerry! Never gets old
  15. if only the Devils drafted Felix Potvin.....
  16. I had to put my two cents in and I actually injected the Upshall and a 2nd to make the Kings fans feel better about their GM. God, I absolutely hated Dan Carcillo with a passion. Diving POS in my opinion and there is no need for trash like him in the game. I mean seriously he fought Gaborik for Christ's sake!
  17. @jammer2 I figured it would be their 3rd jersey last year, or at least their Sunday jersey. Snider could grow his $$$ pile higher if they wore them a few more times.
  18. OT a bit, but will the O&B ever don this "classic" again? I liked it...
  19. "Unfortunately, to hope that Hartnell will waive his NTC and won't be with the team come the beginning of the season is a wishful thinking. I can't see him going anywhere. " Agreed
  20. @Mad Dog No my lines are as such: VL-Giroux-Voracek Read-Schenn-Simmonds Gagne-Couturier-Talbot Rinaldo-Laughton-Rosehill See if Hartnell and Meszaros could net some solid defensive depth.
  21. I'd like Gagne-Couturier-Talbot on a line together.
  22. @ctid Sorry ctid. I actully responded with a picture of steroids, but then realized that posting illegal drugs may be not so kosher with the mods so I deleted it. The only problem when you delete a picture, you cannot delete the post. Sorry for the confusion. It is very good that one of the Flyers top prospects is getting size.
