I don't think anyone really knows at this point. So many unknown variables. If they come out of the first 10 games at better than .500, it could jumpstart something really good. Less than .500 and people will start getting fired and traded and anything can happen then.
Maybe it's just me but I think Horton would be a much better fit than Vinny. We don't need another center. Horton is a tough, skilled RW, He would be a nice fit with G. Hopefully this Vinny thing is all smoke and Horton is the real target.
I think he's a very good player, but still not quite A+ quality. I'd give him an A, sometimes A-. I'd see if I could sign him for 2-3 years as the highest paid Flyer, which would be what, 6.5 Mil? If he grows into elite after that, then max him out.
I'm good with Mason. Much quicker and much more athletic than the B-word. I think he will be fine with a good team in front of him that wants to play for him.
I speculated a few months ago that this could happen? You could trade players/picks AND CASH to pay back the Preds investment. That's allowed isn't it?
I think they should seriously consider it. It's not often that a D'Man is the projected #1 pick. They should take a serious run at him. D'Men picked high in the draft typically turn out to be the real deal.
I also agree. Mason is much more athletic and puts himself in better position to stop a rebound or second shot. I think of Bryz as a one shot goalie. He is usually good for just one stop in a sequence. If he gives up a rebound, he typically is not athletic enough to get himself in position for a second shot.
