Matt Murray AHL bound, Evander Kane on waivers

Matt Murray with two and a half years remaining on his deal at 6.25 million per has cleared waivers and been sent to the AHL by the Senators. He has been a complete bust to put it mildly, last year going 10-13-1 with a 3.38 goals against and constantly banged up. This year is more of the same, 0-5 with a 3.26 goals against and .890 save pct. He has been dreadful and one of the major reasons the team has underperformed. The Sens may find a suitor at or near the deadline but for now they are moving on with Gustafsson and Forsberg who have been equally awful but at a combined a little over a quarter of the price.

In other news, Evander Kane who led the Sharks in scoring last year and who led the league in dreadful offseason decisions has served his suspension and has been placed on waivers. The odds are he clears and begins play Tuesday for the Barracuda. He could still be recalled after he is in game shape or if the Sharks eat a massive amount of his deal and throw in another piece to entice they may find someone to take him. Maybe.

Poor Murray. This may be the last post about the dude since Kane has been separated out.

Lol

It's about time with Murray.  I don't know if it's Steve Sax Syndrome or if he was protected in Pittsburgh and never that good (my vote), but wow how he has fallen.

At least Murray will be able to win the goodwill of his AHL linemates by picking up the tab on everything.

Kane's entire paychecks get garnished
