So true they tried to force Jake to be that guy for G like they forced Coots into a top center role. Coots and Jake topped out as 2nd line talent pushed into top line roles. It looks the same now they finally get a good goalie and don't know how to put a solid group of defensemen in front of him. The main reason they always traded for already established guys because they didn't know how to draft and when they did they don't know how to develop them... GratefulFlyers Posted February 15, 2022 Share Posted February 15, 2022 the highlight for me was (finally) seeing Sanheim play like the player he should be all the time. Defensively he was about the same but offensively it was like he suddenly woke up from a season-long slumber. He used his great wheels to attack the net, got a goal in one of the Wings games and just seemed like a different player, a much better player, than he has all year.
