Yesterday, Russo Tweeted new defensive pairings. Not sure if they'll be what we see tonight, or will simply fall back on what we've been using and hasn't been working. Anyway, here's what was at practice yesterday:

Middleton-Spurgeon

Brodin-Addison

Merrill-Dumba

I've just heard a segment with former Habs and Flyers coach Michel Therrien. According to him the main problem is the defensive structure in front of Fleury and you can't put all on Fleury's shoulder (ok, little bias there). And the Wild is dead-last in the league for the most quality scoring chances allowed, which means that goaltending actually prevented more goals to be scored against.

I've watched Montréal in Centre Bell last Saturday. Their season start is better than expected and this young team in rebuilding mode is playing paradoxally without any pressure. They can rely on a strong first line but besides that, they don't have depth, the defense is light and unexperienced and their overall goaltending is suspicious. It's the kind of team that benefits a lot from the crowd but they are also prone to make a lot of rookie mistakes, lots of turnovers and bad assignments. If the Wild stay disciplined and has a good start, things are gonna be ok.

Heard the same chatter on K-Fan today about line shake ups.
I like the split of Brodin-Dumba. Give Dumba more responsibility as the so-called leader and free up Brodin from babysitting duties. ;)
Wild win 5-3

Going to miss most if not all of this one and games in the future as my coaching duties started last night with my peewee tryouts. As always I’ll go through the thread to know how it went. Appreciate you guys 👍

Appreciate you as well with all your funny memes and hopefully the tradition of posting said images after a win.
