Game 10: Philadelphia Flyers at Toronto Maple Leafs; 11/2/22 @ 7 PM; NBCSP

Greetings:

Once again, the bookies are showing us no respect--the Leafs are heavy favorites (-280).  Overall, our D is better, their O is better, but statistically, there isn't much difference:

It looks like Samsonov versus Sandstrom.  Some of the pundits note that Felix is getting the 2nd game of the back-to-back for the second time--does it do him any good?  Well, we see.

It will be interesting to see how they respond after that oh so close but no heartbreaker loss. Can they finally win a game for Sandstrom???

Leafs are in a little disarray but maybe poised to break out. Hopefully not this game.

Might be a good night to throw some muscle around. Most of the Leafs are soft as butter.

'twould be nice...At least I hope the skaters give him a solid 60-min effort and not a repeat of the FL game.

I tell you one thing like many of us stated they lack finishers most can agree.

But this group stays with it and the other team is going to have to work hard to get a goal.

Big change from teams of years past.

And yeah I have no answer for you on how they improve the goal scoring.

Definitely don't want to start a parade to the penalty box against Toronto....even if they DID have an embarrassing road trip.

Philly doing a good job so far keeping them off the scoreboard, but well, you know....too  many opportunities and all that.

Leaves® aren't a particularly confident bunch these days and I am sure Torts is letting his guys know that.
Flyers need to pressure and grind....Leaves® wanna fly fast n loose to shake off that last road trip (1-2-2), O and B can't let them regroup at their expense.

There it is.

One too many PP's given to the Leaves®, they finally capitalize.
I wonder if Torts is gonna give Deslauriers an earful for slashing on Matthews' leg that caused the penalty.

Before I could even post they give up one.

Seems the refs are on a mission to do everything they can to help the Leaves win.

It would be nice to not let that happen.

Freakin shooting gallery to end the first!

Sandstrom has to be feeling like a clay pigeon right about now...

Not too sure what Kiefer Sutherland...errr, Bellows can do offensively for this club, but he sure can be a dump truck out there.....and he deposited some Giordano carrion just a bit ago.

Fans wanted a penalty on that hit too...I guess hard hits aren't legal for them in Tronno unless its one of their guys doing it, eh?

I don't know if it's bad ice or just plain poor execution, but there are a LOT of Flyer passes either being completely missed or fumbled off sticks which is really hurting the flow to their offense.

Maybe that's a drill the Coach can run with these guys...precision passing.
They have the Leaves® on the ropes, hemmed in...only to let them back out by not completing passes.

Torts has these guys playing for each other and with purpose for the most part, but that PP is looking real disjointed for the Flyers.

Looks like that is gonna be a project all year.

Yes. He said as much and said some guys are showing growth others not so much.

This roster is in a transition period sorting who fits and who needs to go.

Morgan Frost was sent a message tonight and sent to the press box.

He is part of the return for Brayden Schenn and well if he don't get his shat together could be at a new address by years end.

And he won't be alone...

Flyers finally get one on the PP.

Owen Tippett.
He deserved that one. He's been all over the ice like a madman and even took a puck  near the face for his efforts tonight.
Things hurt a lot less when you score though.

Flyers make it 3-2 Toronto now.
