Nevermind.
radoran
OK - a few things here...One) "Booing Santa" happened FORTY THREE YEARS ago. Two) "Flyers fans" assaulting "Rangers fans" at a sandwich shop hours later is a little different from "Wings Fans" attacking "Blackhawks fans" OUTSIDE THE STADIUM within moments of the game. There's no actual "evidence" that the "Flyers fans" were, you know, AT THE GAME, while there aren't a whole lot of people weraing Wings jerseys getting upset about opposing jerseys OUTSIDE JOE LOUIS ARENA who didn't go to the game...I have personally seen numerous instances of "Philly fans" backing people in opposing jerseys against the drunken fools purporting to be "Philly fans" - the most recent being earlier this week against the Isles. Phillygrump
@radoranYou'll certainly never hear about this on ESPN. But if a Philly fan boos its national news on ESPN.

Phlyer1
A little more on the fake Santa. He was in the stands and was wearing a seedy Santa outfit. The REAL Santa did not show up so they asked him to get on the float. The crowd threw snowballs with the intent being they were angry at GM Coach Joe Kuharik . he was not doing a good job at either. When asked why he did not make any moves to improve the Eagles he replied,"why Franklin Field is sold every Sunday." There are several good writeups on the subject and before statements are made about the incident maybe som reseearch is in order.

There are several good writeups on the subject and before statements are made about the incident maybe som reseearch is in order.I have seen interviews with the guy in the Santa suit where he said *he* wished he could have thrown snowballs at himself.http://www.snopes.com/holidays/christmas/santa/philadelphia.aspFans had to clear their own seats of snow. 54,000 of them. For the second-worst team in the league. In some ways it shows how little Philadelphia learned from this that 20 years later the Mayor could pay a guy $20 to heave a snowball at the Dallas Cowboys from a similarly-unshoveled Veterans Stadium.Even more contemporary relevance: that was at the Bounty Bowl. doom88
Just start Internet rumors and half truths about other cities. If they are good, they will catch on.
TedZep
But they were Rangers' fans. Sounds like a perfectly reasonable assault to me.
