PP coach needs to go.
lots of passing to the outside, no one breaks to the middle to take a pass from the half wall or the red line.
Defense never collapses lower.
Maybe Kirill should coach the team on the PP.

Not sure what it is with this team and the power play. They've changed power play coaches (Yeo, Brunette) and players (The Wonder Twins, Koivu) and it is mediocre at best. Right now they are ranked 15th in the league for power play percentage. I guess the positive is there are 16 teams worse than them.

It just seems that no matter the players or coach, this team prefers to pass around the perimeter, trying to make that perfect shot rather than throwing it at the net and causing havoc in the paint...

Being middle of the pack, aka mediocre is probably just a few % points away from 'Not too bad' or just like last season. While during that 5 min Major, They did bring some intensity and faster passing and even not just around the perimeter. Still couldn't net 1 tho. (Part due to Anderson ofc)
I don't expect that same intensity everytime on the PP but somewhere between that and what we do now would be a big improvement.
Like you said "That perfect shot", we far too often opt not to take a good shot in a high danger zone, Looking for that highlight goal after a few pretty passes.

Sure, We're a defensive minded team but when you're given a PP, That's a chance to open it up and make those 2 minutes a game changer.
While it's statistically better than last season, It's basically the same. I would think it would also help the regular lines 5 on 5 have less pressure to score if we'd at least amp it up and net more on the PP.
Until it's changed, it'll always be our achilles heel, Especially PO time.

The power play is really hindered by the lack of a right hand shooting option. They also tend to pick a position and stay there rather than rotate around.
They can pass all they want but if the players don’t move neither will the defense.
The players need to move just as much or more than the puck.

Did the WILD complete their season series with Toronto?

Not quite.
Minnesota has a short two game road trip (back to backs in fact), where they play the Blue Jackets then the Leaves® in February.

February is a very home heavy scheduled month for the Wild!

When in February? I'm interested in Murray vs Fleury!
