Polaris922
Morrow skated in practice today... I hope he skates tonight. Murray won't be here yet but I'd like to see Morrow and watch the man play.

Murray won't be here yet but I'd like to see Morrow and watch the man play.I think that Bylsma stated after the morning skate that Morrow was in the game. Letang was claiming that he's a game time decision, with a groin I'd rather see .him take another game or two off, don't rush back just for the streak.I'm looking for Morrow to try to make a big impact tonight, lets see him plant Slewban on the forecheck, that should get a loud reaction. But keeping in tradition with the current streak, I got a bad feeling about this one. Jinx hopefully avoided once again.
Polaris922
Letang IS in as well... Game on!!And Bennett on the 4th line... If that's where he's gonna be I'd rather he go back down to the Baby Pens to get the ice time. Edited March 26, 2013 by Polaris922
jammer2
@Polaris922 So, at least for the time being, Bennett suffers the most with the Morrow acquisiton......kinda sucks because he has looked solid, does not deserve to get demoted....but that's how things go in this league. If he continues to hustle, he's one injury away from the top 6, so that is looking on the bright side.
nossagog
Gotta say, I really don't like these one goal games. I'm getting too old for this every night. Anyway, HATED the way that the Pens defense played the Canadians forecheck tonight. They were slow to the puck, and constantly just wanted to freeze the puck along the boards, half the time losing it to the Canadians.Hope Fleury is okay, Kennedy came back with too much speed to the goal and lost his balance fighting for position with Gionta. yave1964
That is one thing I envy of the Pens, they can beat you 1-0 or 6-5.

I can't get too upset over the D. It was a shut out...albeit with some gorgeous saves from Fleury and two posts.

Polaris922
I like that so many of the wins are 1 goal games. That's playoff hockey. And only surrendering 8 goals in 10 games now is it? Excellent! Now bring in Murray for Eaton and watch em drop!

nossagog
Remember about three weeks, everyone was worried about the defense and that we couldn't keep up with these 5-4 style games because that would change in the playoffs. Oh how the times have changed. I'm still not convinced on our defensive scheme transitioning to the defensive zone. We get back way to slow, and the opposing forecheck is on the D before they get to the puck.

Notice when a defenseman skates back for the puck they almost always slow up and wait for the forechecking forward to catch them and just use body position to move the puck. They seem to be minimizing getting clobbered against the boards this way. It's leading to some turnovers but if they shield with their body, not many.
