Freddy Fog
Not real clear on the rule regarding the kid (Laughton) who seems to be playing well in Jrs. I know that if he played nine or ten games in the NHL we had to keep him up, but is he untouchable now that he is not with the bigger clubs? Just curious, since we might be able to use some sort of spark offensively.

The only exception is an emergency callup, and there would have to be a LOT of injuries for that to be an option. In other words, it won't happen. Next year (as a 20 year old) he will go to the Phantoms if he doesn't make the squad out of camp, and be called up / sent down as needed. DaGreatGazoo
Cannot be recalled until his Junior team's season ends, or in an unusual "emergency" situation. Say, the Flyers have NO one in their entire organization that could play center, and no one in Adirondack to be called up....the league has to determine what is a justifiable emergency, IIRC. And welcome to the board!
flyercanuck
@Freddy Fog Laughton is there until his team is done for the year. And as previously mentioned....do you really want him brought into this cesspool of a hockey club right now?
murraycraven
do you really want him brought into this cesspool of a hockey club right now? Freddy Fog
thanks for the info guys, and you are right...might be a rough baptism to the NHL at this point.
AndyS
I don't understand why he wasn't kept up with the Flyers. Heck, I'd much rather see ALL of the kids playing right now. Let them grow & take their lumps at the NHL level.

radoran
The simple answer is that the Flyers committed to their Top 6 (really, 9) forwards and Laughton wouldn't get the time there. It's not a satisfying answer, but it is the rationale they went with.
