Just when you think things can't get worse...

First, Hamilton bolts, then there was the rocky draft performance, then the three first rounders failing physicals, and now the B's can tell Seidenberg goodbye for a while. The blueliner needs surgery to repair a disc herniation, and is expected to miss eight weeks.

We all know Chara is getting to be over the hill and that it shows sometimes. This puts the weight of the defense even more heavily on his shoulders. Right now, everything that can possibly work against the Bruins seems to be doing so. This really looks like a team doomed to wander in the wilderness for a while. Can their situation be any worse?

Thanks Scott for the good article. They still have Rask, Chara and Bergeron but the Bruins are a rapidly aging MESS. Now they won't have Seidenberg. Rask will have to stand on his head for them to even come close to sniffing the playoffs.

Not a playoff team, no way no how, on the way down fast. Seidenberg and Hamilton both gone, losing Boychuk the year before, Ference the previous season, no team in the league could lose that much on defense, add in the rapidly aging Bergeron and Krejci and the Bruins are now a bottom ten team within the league possibly even a lottery team.

@NHLBruins
UPDATE: Zdeno Chara out with an upper-body injury, will not return.

-stay tuned.

(I can think of a team with an extra d-man -- :ph34r:)

Well, you may have just answered the question at the end of my original post...
