Damn what the holy hell is going on in Phantomville???

No Stolarz or Labarbera in net tonight. They are in OT tied up 5-5.

Connor Knapp is goal. Goulbourne with 2 goals. Straka with 2 goals and Leier the other.

I guess they are beat up in goal injured or something no word.

Mark Alt leaves game with leg injury after awkward collision with Travis Boyd of Hershey. Alt & Boyd used to be teammates at U of Minnesota

Tim Brent wins it in the shootout!

Phantoms 6-5

The only one to score both teams. Goulbourne, Straka and Leier got chances but came up short!

Konecy by far is best fwd prospect in the system. But there is underrated depth of fwd prospects with decent shot to develop into NHL regs.

From a coverage perspective, it's fun. Flyers haven't had this many promising players in system since days of Phantoms 2004-05 Calder team.

Stolarz was injured in 1st period on Wednesday at Utica. Day-to-day.
LaBarbera has been out for a couple weeks. Getting close to return.

It must just be coincidence, but not trading away our 1sts and 2nds and 3rds and actually trading for draft picks has somehow given us more and better prospects.

"Man, I really wish Homer was still behind the wheel for trades and picks."

- No one. Ever.

Cooper Marody is having a great start to his college career at Michigan!!!

10 games played 7 goals 5 assists 12 points shooting % 26.9

Great late round find. I had high hopes for David Kase, but he needs to get the hell out of the Czech Republic. He should have gone to Mississauga to play in the OHL. He would have gotten a ton of ice time and a better chance at developing his game. Instead, he's barely getting tablescraps in the Czech League.

With that being said, there's actually a glut of good forwards beginning to build in the pipeline. Obviously Travis Konecny and Nicolas Aube-Kubel are the top two, but Oskar Lindblom is right up there with them and of course there's Nick Cousins, Taylor Leier and perhaps the most underrated of all the forward prospects - Radel Fazleev. And that doesn't include guys like Samuel Dove-McFalls and Mikhail Vorobyov (who some scouts have compared favorably to Minnesota's first round pick Joel Eriksson Ek). Add a few more high end guys this year and Hextall has done his job rebuilding the pipeline.

Yes Lindblom and Fazleev are LW but don't really project to a top line LW.  More like bottom 9 type guys which are still needed but the elusive top line LW is the top priority.

That guy isn't in the pipeline yet.....unfortunately but he could be in this upcoming draft.

Stolarz returned to action last night and the Phantoms defeated the Utica Comets 3-1.  Phantoms goals by Rankin, Petterson, and Martel.

Nice.

They have 10 wins this season Stolarz has 8. Labarbera has 1. And one of the ECHL guys has the other one.

Keep riding Stolarz!

Anthony Stolarz is a legit blue chip goaltending prospect. I know some have mentioned his inconsistency, but last season, he was playing well up until he suffered a concussion. He faltered badly down the stretch and he shouldn't have been playing. As for this year, we're seeing what a healthy Stolarz can do - cover up much of the net, move incredibly well laterally, has learned how to better control rebounds and his puck handling is getting better. He'll be with the big club by the trade deadline next year, bank on it.

That's perfectly fine to come in as a back up. Don't forget that Mason will be in the last year of his deal and Stolarz could be the guy that either pushes Mason into a new deal or out the door.

And also don't forget that this kid is 21 years old. Unless he completely blows away NHL competition, there's absolutely no rush in making him a starter.

What I want to see out of him is a playoff without a meltdown.

Well they have to get there 1st. And if they keep playing him they certaily have a better chance.

Losing Ghost hurts their offense for sure but they still should be able to find a way.
