Goals? Not so much.

Yeah even with an extra guy on the ice they can't score. That is turrible.

I PP goal in the last 5 games.

I'm just glad they hired Kris Knoblauch he has worked wonders with the PP.

He owes Connor Mcdavid for his NHL coaching chance that he has squandered....

Exactly.

They outshot Vegas 26-21 and lost 1-0.

They outshot Boston 26-24 and lost 3-0.

They outshot Colorado 37-34 and lost 5-2 then outshot them 38-32 and lost 4-1.

They outshot Columbus 35-28 and lost 6-3.

They certainly put up shots. Goals? Not so much.

Hmm ... Very interesting stats.  Valid question here...What type of quality of shots are being generated?   Are the vast majority from the point or top of circles and are easy saves for the goalie.  OR are they quality chances in the slot or in and around the net where the goalie made quality saves.  I think those questions are valid and must be answered.

They should trade Voracek now. I don't care what he did last year. I'm tired of overpaid, lazy primadonnas. The shots he takes are wide and lazy..backchecking and skating lazy...in the corners play lazy. LAZY

One thing and this is from the eye ball test no data to back it is they are from outside perimeter shots teams are letting them have those because no one yet this season can bury one from distance.

Very few of any are off of screens it is like no one knows how to set a screen.

And to combat that the defense doesn't know how to defend one for Elliott.

Mind blowing how dumb a offseason can make a team.

If it makes you feel any better, Stevie Wonder was Hakstol's second choice to coach the power play.

On top of what i just stated about other teams forcing the Flyers to take distant outside shots there are two ways to combat that either burn them from the outside shots forcing them to chance it up or force them to by breaking inside a getting shome chance down low in close.

It is like in football (i know not the best analogy but it will do) when teams are crowding the box and cheating the safety in down low the only way to combat that is to go deep and over their heads deep to make the respect the long ball.

Do that enough and they will adjust. But success must come first for that to work.

And it depends on the coaches mind set....some believe in sticking to their game plan and other see what they are doing and trying to adjust to counter attack that.

Which is Hak???

I think he struggles to adjust and just believes like Berube use to do hey keep skating and dumping and chasing eventually they will break..."

Which sadly has been wrong.

Hak just isn't a great tactician i'm afraid or why we haven't seen any good adjustments.

Not all coaches can do this.

Time for a stick and stones check, I guess. Well, hey, if that doesn't work...there's always Cialis.

Not all coaches can do this.

Which begs of another question that must be asked ........   Is Hak's time with this team up????  I mean seriously we are asking the very same questions this year that we asked last year and the year before that and the year before that.

This is now the start of the 4th year for Hak.  One would think he should start to be "getting it" by now.  I know many have given him a pass, but he is simply not growing as a NHL coach.

I think Hexy really needs to start looking at other coaching options from top to bottom..... Am I wrong here?????????

I'm all in favor of creative, but teams aren't lining up to give hot young players for waning vets.

Ok let' redo the trade offer then...

Simmer Voracek, Lindblom and Meyers would be a nice return.

for Johnny....

Well, that would. The question is still whether Calgary wants to give up their budding young Star.

Again, I'll speculate that you wouldn't want to give up Gaudreau. Even for that.

So you know Hextall has to be planning an exit strategy away from Hak.

So I wonder where he would look?

Down below to Gordon?

Or to another head coach with some experience?

Thoughts?

Sutter said he was done coaching. Retired.

So who else would be the guy?

I like Tippett but he is part of the new Seattle group.

Not sure if he has an out if an opportunity arises because he isn't the coach just a consultant.

Thoughts. Ideas. Concerns welcome.

Within, you’re looking at Gordon or Knoblauch.

Outside, there’s Sutter, Vigneault, Tippett, Hitchcock.

My guess would be Knoblauch as interim until end of season or until a top level coach becomes available.
