Well i notice we didn't have a thread for this so i figured now would be just as good a time as any.

One question to begin with. Will we ever seen another prospect ever score 282 points again in one season of junior like Lemieux did back in the day???

That is insane!!!

Make up your mind  Are the Flyers going to get a high pick or make the playoffs?  Not going to get both.

I don't know right now. My magic 8 ball is in the shop. Did you not read the post i said it wasn't accurate. Look it's right above the picks.

Go get your bifocals on. Flyers are on the hottest win streak in the NHl right now hard to say how they finish right now but the way the goalies are playing i could see the Flyers falling out the bottom 10 really.

They went from the bottom 6th from the bottom in a week or so. So right now i can't say.

I know.  5 in a row.  1-0 win vs the mighty Rangers.  OK.

For guys draft Eligible this year and or Overagers.

Raphael Lavoie from the mooseheads should go top 20 this year. Size, shot, skating. Not as high as some previous year Moose guys but he has the tools.

Samuel Asselin should get a tryout from someone. He is a good pest and could probably crack a teams bottom 6 someday.

Future guys....

Xavier Parent is not breaking out like I had hoped he would. He is just so small and hasn't put on any height like I hoped he would. So much skill, but gets pushed off the puck too easy.

Justin Barron IS going to be a guy that gets attention next year. Size, skating, hockey sense. puckmoving ability. Two way ability. everything you want in a Dman.

For the same exact reason as the Flyers:   They finally put a goalie in there.   Binnington is playing lights out.

Yeah we all said Allen was garbage...well all except Rick.

OR...back in those days the Q was a very wide open league with not much D going on. Stats were typically inflated. Combine that with a generational talent who also had great size and that's what you ended up with. There are plenty of no name players who averaged over 2 ppg in the Q over their career. The OHL has like 3 guys who've done it all time.

It's still very impressive. He was big, highly skilled and could skate. And had a great shot. And soft hands. And could he ever whine. :violin:

He had soft hands.  He didn't whine.  He moaned.

So he was in the AHL I assume?  Is he young?

Well, he's 25, so only 5 years younger than Ryan Miller.

3rd pick for the Blues in 2011. Decent numbers in the AHL. But so far so good.

Those are "Rick" years when you're talking about Miller though, right?

The reality is Miller is old enough to be his dad.

Not true.  I was wrong about age.   If uniform number equals age, then Jordan is 50.

So THAT's where they get their numbers from...hmmm, never knew that.

I wonder if Carter Hart is the oldest rookie goalie ever at 79?

Ha  ha.   Well I am interested in what we are going to ultimately get for O'Reilly who is certainly now coming through as the player St Louis expected.  He is great. I still think the Sabres did the right thing.  They let him go to a team that is ready now to build for the short future.  The Sharks owe us too, don't forget that

I think the Sabres did the right thing.  The NHL players they got back fizzled, so that stinks, but we'll see what happens with the rest of it.

  • 3 months later...

So Peyton Krebs, (who I'd say is a top 10 pick), partially tears his achilles tendon. I wonder if he drops to the Flyers pick...and do we take him? It's a partial, so there should be a full recovery, it'll just set him back a bit.
