TropicalFruitGirl26
Rangers trade up to 19th, so they are now on the clock. This drops Calgary back to 22nd, and they also get the overall 72nd pick (3rd rounder) from NY.
TropicalFruitGirl26
Rangers go with Braden Schneider. Looks like a nasty type, hard hitting defender....that can chip in the offense too. Why wouldn't a player like that have gone higher than 19th?

Or at least, what do you think they need positionally?
TropicalFruitGirl26
Mukahmadlulidinandan, defenseman, goes to the Devils. Big, 6'4 but a beanpole at just 175 pounds. They say he has good offensive instincts though.
yave1964
I would like to see Jean Luc Foudy to see the Foudy boys both on the Jackets, but lol, he is a second rounder so that wont happen at least tonight. CBJ desperately need centers in the organization. AFTer PLD they have Domi/Jenner who are wingers forced to play center. Because of that, i would go Lapierre because the kid can flat out play. Jarko not afraid to pick his guy and scouts be damned, but wow was this off the board. Not sure if they couldnt have gotten him with the third rounder they added from Montreal today. TropicalFruitGirl26
*&^%$ing Flames....they traded AGAIN, and moved further down to acquire an extra pick again....this time with Washington, who is now on the clock. Calgary driving me crazy here....trying to keep the draft picks and the orders correct.
TropicalFruitGirl26
Lapierre finally goes. Caps get him. And if he CAN stay healthy, they will be adding yet another high offense guy.

There were some questions about his skating...but apparently, that depends on who you ask. Some people feel it will be a downfall for him, others feel he will be just fine as soon as he puts more weight on his frame. But yea, everyone seems to agree he is a heck of a shooter. Not worried about that the Flyers are in need of scoring, it will be 3 years before we really know. Thank Gawd they have a shooter now. Plenty of time to work on his skating. John Leclair was a poor skater too.

But they are saying he is heavily built at that height. Low center of gravity and powerful lower body. Could work out well then. Yeah. The best pick in 2 decades. Very offensively minded player(120 points in 56 games in OHL last season).
