Your two cents, Which Division is the most entertaining?

I have tried to keep up with as much of the West Coasters as possible, usually watching a ten minute recap in the morning while I am running on the treadmill, but I have watched a fair amount of pretty much everyone in the East. Question for all, not who is the best but which division is the most ENTERTAINING this year?

NORTH All the Camadian clubs, they have a three way tie for first between Toronto, Winnipeg and Edmonton right now all of whom have been as hot as anyone at some point during the year. Lots of scoring. The drawback is the four playoff spots are already close to a forgone conclusion.

CENTRAL Lightning, Carolina and  Florida have pretty much dominated the weaker sisters and have played outstanding hockey and there is a three way race between Columbus, Chicago and Nashville for the final spot with Dallas lurking in the weeds.

EAST Isles are trying to hold off the Caps for first, the Caps are trying to hold of the resurgent Penguins. The fourth spot is up for grabs between the Bruins, Flyers and suddenly in the thick of things Rangers who were left for dead early in the year. At least one damn good club will miss the playoffs. If you are into masochism you also have the Sabres and their biblically bad season.

WEST Colorada and Vegas are loaded and both expect a cup this year, the Wild have come from nowhere to hang with the big boys. The Blues look off kilter this season and are trying to hold off the Kings and 'Yotes for the final spot.

So again, which division do you find most entertaining?

My opinion is the North. They seem to be playing a crazy different game up there, the good teams are all flawed to the point of unpredictability but they are enormously fun to watch, especially Edmonton. The bad clubs, it is fun watching the Flames implosion, the Senators lose by six goals one night and upset a top tier team in a battler the next, Nobody is great but they are fun because of their weaknesses if that makes sense. And the bad clubs are fun to watch here too. I give my vote to the North because top to bottom there is something here for everyone.

Hmmm....the North is definitely tops for unpredictability (despite what the Toronto media and some of their fans would have you believe), because you just never know who will come out on top on many nights.

However, for pure entertainment value, I will stick with the Central.
Obviously, the home of the defending Cup champion Lightning, and my team, so naturally, I will find them the most interesting.... but also because despite that, Carolina and Florida could possibly lay claim this season to being just as good and have a legit shot to overtake the Bolts and win the division for themselves.

Then you have teams that have no shot to win the division like Chicago, who play a hell of a game night in, night out, have exciting players on there, and probably will do enough to maintain their playoff position.........unless.....

Some team like the Blue Jackets, Stars, or Predators whom many have left for dead, make some crazy run at the end (it IS possible), and pinch away the 4th slot from the Blackhawks.

At the very bottom you have Detroit, who honestly, on most nights aren't particularly exciting to watch, but that said, still work as hard as their abilities can carry them and sometimes are just a very, very tough out (if not on the scoreboard, then perhaps physically) on the so-called upper teams in the division.

So yea, North division for pure NHL roulette, but Central for watching interesting, exciting games....many times with varying stories unfolding each game, even with the perceived non contenders....enough so that they can be the Soap Opera Division of the NHL

----'Can Chicago win one more Cup with their current core before admitting to Riley that is isn't really his child?'
----'Will the Lightning, esteemed Cup champions, keep everyone from discovering their dark side of cap crunch problems....and the affair they have been having with the Maple Leafs violating many Covid protocols and uniform color standards?'
---- 'Can the Stars, Predators, and Blue Jackets turn their lives around, finish their 12-step programs, and come out as better teams, and better fathers, to their minor league children?'
----'Will the Red Wings' ever admit to kidnapping the entire Red Army teams in the 90's and 2000's, making them work for them, and thus creating the Legacy of Greatness for 25 years that they now no longer have with the fall of the NHL curtain?'
---Can the Panthers and Hurricanes, adopted bastard children, ever truly be accepted by the NHL family fans.....or will they forever be 'red headed'?

Find out the answers to these questions and many more on the next exciting episode of....... As The Central Turns.... :shifty:

LMAO Those guys from The North might very well wear down those others. Those bigger guys might be a bit obese. The Maple, Oilers, Jets and Canadiens are all fast.

This is certainly the perception, and for good reason: Canadian teams haven't shown anything in the playoffs for 30 years! (So why would anyone take them seriously right?)

However, when you look at the data from last season, you see the North division has a lot of competitive teams in it, and a lot of playoff teams. There's only seven teams in the division and only one of them is a bad team: Ottawa. The good teams are good but not great. In a sense, there's never an easy opponent in the North division.... but there's also nobody that is unbeatable.

The nhl always talks about growing the game yet they have 15 games on a Saturday when there is the Kentucky Derby and nfl draft. Today they had one game. Makes no sense

Saturday is the proper day for hockey. The Kentucky Derby does not exist. Neither does the NFL.  That is all.  😃👍
