I honestly don't think the Wild are 'smart' enough to be afraid of ANYONE in the West....and I like them ignorant like that! Sure, there are teams that, on paper, should dispose of the Wild rather handily, but they don't play games on paper. If someone is gonna bounce the Wild, they are gonna have to earn it. Some touch n go moments in front of Gus. Wild aren't playing terrible, BUT, they aren't making the best clearing attempts and the puck is ending back on NJ sticks. A bit more pressure on the NJ side of the ice would be nice too. 4 SOG through nearly the first period isn't gonna cut it. Stuff that should be easy to clean up.

Frankly, I was surprised to see the Preds even still in it. The bodies they shipped out and the draft capital coming back, looked for sure like they were getting ready for next season. Part of it could be a team like the Jets falling from the top of the division to almost out of it. Had Winnipeg stayed solid, I don't think anyone even bothers thinking Nashville has a shot. But, you are right though. As long as the Preds DO have a shot, you'd want the goalies to play better than what is shown here. Saros for sure....Lankinen? Meh... He is a career AHL'er, borderline NHL'er anyways.

This is pretty refreshing. No folding tents by Minnesota when things don't go their way...no pouting at non calls....no going into defensive shells. Just go and answer a goal WITH a goal. This group of Wild players may not know any better and probably should worry about many of the talented scoring teams they face, but I sure like them ignorant in that regard!
