  1. I think Howard has a NTC/NMC! I'm pretty sure Winninpeg wouldn't be one of teams he'd allow a trade to. But he needs to be moved. He's just not what everyone thought he was. Legwand? I think he'd be a good fit but the price needs to be right. Same thing with Quincey. I'd definitely extend Hossa, oh wait............. Franzen should be sent on his way. Yes he has a great cap hit but he's the most inconsistent player in the NHL. Now the real problem. Who's going to take on the contracts of Franzen and Howard? Someone would probably take Franzen but Howard is likely untradeable.
  2. Just simply take the diver to the box! And it will stop!
  3. It's too bad we as the customer settle for this crap. The age old it all equals out is complete BS!
  4. Night after night we see horrible calls made or not made. So yes it's time for some sort of a coaches challenge system.
  5. Bad tendencies? Like passing the park directly on the stick of the other team? Like being able rebounding machine? Like giving up extremely soft goals at the most inopportune times? I'm sorry I just don't see it being any worse than what we saw this year! Crap he had as many shutouts as Howard Did?
  6. I like can't disagree with you diving is cheating and goaltender interference most time is an action play. Diving is a guy consciously trying to influence the referee. With all of that said i'm wondering if The no in the blue crease rule was so bad? Since they've gone back the other way there's much more action in the blue area causing the interference.
  7. Holy cow in Avs/Wild game. Benoit takes a swan dive. The ONLY way to stop this is take just the diver to the box.
  8. Blatant inference in the Boston/Detroit game yesterday lead to the series clinching goal.
  9. It's obvious this team was not prepared for Lidstroms retirement. And when they lost out on Suter the disarray started. Here's my quick fixes. Keep Tatar, Nyquist, Gledenning and Sheahan up on the big team. Let go Cleary, Samuelsson, Quicney and Bertuzzi Now the unpopular part of my post! Trade Howard and Franzen. Franzen has struggled since 2009 when he signed the big contract. And to think Holland picked Franzen over Hossa. Howard????? Where to start? He's not a 5m goalie. His stats this year put at the bottom of the NHL. Would the team be any worse off with Mrazek in net full time? I think not! Now with all of that said I'm not sure you can find partners to trade those contracts?
  10. I'm very close to stopping watching my beloved sport. But unfortunately I'm not the fan the NHL wants. Here's a list of why! Shootouts Embellishment Not allowing teams and players to police themselves and then not hammering the shitheads due the instigator rules The NHL having very little concern with tradition WWE here we come!
  11. Closer to soccer????? How about closer to the NBA!
  12. I have been watching this game for WELL over 40 years. We have the biggest strongest players ever! Yet a touch and a fall will not be called a dive! There's ZERO respect for the game! This isn't the game I grew up playing and watching! Coaches coach if you feel a touch fall! And the absolutely inept referees reward the dive!
  13. This isn't very fun to watch right now! I'm going to make my Howard point and move on. It's painfully obvious he's not the guy to take this team to the next level. With the cap you can no longer hide mediocre goaltending! IMO his 5m is wasted of cap space for what he brings. Now on the others. The future is very bright. Man these kids are better than great. Lidstrom retiring has hurt this team more than other player in my 40 years of watching this team. When they couldn't sign Suter the fall started. I truly feel the fall isn't too far but a fall none the less it's still a fall. The Lidstrom retirement looks so much like Barry Sanders when he retired. Neither were prepared for the retirement. Not sure Lions have yet recovered from Sanders retiring. The Wings are in the recovery mode right now. So with all of that said a few lucky bounces tomorrow brings it back to Detroit.
  14. The more things change, the more they remain the same! Ducks lose a game and goon it up!
  15. When will the NHL have the balls to tell the on ice official to just call the DIVE? I'm growing tired of the trip and the embellishment call! It should not be both! The only way to stop the dive is to call it alone. Big huge strong men and simple touch and they go down? Ridiculous!
  16. Howard is not the only reason why this team struggles. But he is NOT a cup caliber goalie and is way overpaid for what he brings. Right now the goaltending situation reminds of the early 90's goaltending situation until Vernon came to the Wings.
  17. Jimmy SOFT GOAL Howard sets the tone again!
  18. With current alignment I only see expansion out West until conferences are even. I could see a struggling East team moving to Hamilton.
  19. Unfortunately Howard's gaff set the tone for the night. The Wings need to trying to be rough. They're just not going to win that way. Also score on the PP and make Boston pay for their rough crap.
  20. Great points. That's exactly what I've been trying to say. I'm just not as good of a wordsmith as you are. Lol
  21. Ok now we are on the same page. Personally I could not care less if the league grows too. But as long as the stupid leadership of the league keeps trying they need to help it out. And turning a blind eye when they know it's going to be plastered on the news is not helping it out. That crap needs to be washed out growth or not! I know that 10 teams carry the revenue load of the NHL and those teams don't need to grow in their markets. But as long as the league keeps putting teams in stupid markets they need to please the new fans.
