  1. I don't suppose you read any of the comments....It appears that the people from Chicago think as highly of their writers as the people of Philadelphia.
  2. I think he actually went for the knee to the head but Toews got up too fast.......
  3. I think if you hit someone and injure them that you should have to answer for it legal/clean/ or not.... and for the record I already stated that I thought it was solid shoulder to shoulder contact and the puck was still in the general vacinity.
  4. I am not sure why you would not expect someone to go after the guy who just injured your star player with a hit legal or not. The last time he hit someone with a "legal hit" causing injury, one of his team mates got whacked while he avoided confrontation. That is the whole gist of his avoidance causing more dangerous situations instead of taking his medicine.
  5. Why should he not? If you injure one of my team mates(intentional or not) I would come after you. I am real surprised that no one on the hawks did. But you are right, it is much better to let it build to another injury to some poor sap without a clue.....
  6. I was just waiting for Milbury to take off Keith's shoe and start threatening people with it. Keith Jones said it best. Clean hit or not when someone takes out your team mate, you go after them regardless of size or strength difference. That was a hard check thrown by Orpik but it was shoulder to shoulder. What I will bitch about is the fact that Rinaldo makes the same hit and is penalized for it(REPEATEDLY). If you watched the Bruins game, he made a great hit on Iginla (legal) who got up and came after Zac for the hit(something I bet he thinks twice about next time). Did Rinaldo have to go with Iggy, for the hit? No but he has never been shy about answering for his own hits, something Orpik has never done and probably never will....
  7. No bitching here other than it may have been a tad late(Toews was looking at the puck going away when Orprick checked him). He did stay low and it was shoulder to shoulder on the check (the head contact was minimal and from Toews dropping from the hit). I am surprised the hawks let him get away with destroying their Captain without so much as a wimper. I look forward to some of you Pens fans turning the other cheek when some team does that to your Captain though.
  8. @mojo1917 Please read my sig line below....it will save you hours by just not having to read some of the "moronic" drivel posted by one of the geniuses on this site. It does wonders for your sanity.
  9. If the 4th line center is getting 13 plus minutes a game, can you really call that a 4th line center? I mean Schenn playing the 2nd line center only played 10:52. It helps the entire team by balancing the time and not having players(centers and wingers) logging 20 plus minutes a game. The whole demoted to 4th line center should not apply in this case.
  10. Bump........Sheer genius I tell ya.............
  11. I was pissed.....I mean truly PISSED when Richards was traded. Carter...not so much. The return on Richards(Simmonds and Schenn) and Carter(Vorachek and Couturier) has lessened the blow of the trades immensely. I would still take Richards back in a heart beat but I think I would rather castrate myself without anesthetic than see Carter ever where the O&B again. His(Carter) nickname should be "TinMan"......NO HEART.
  12. LMAO!!! Now that is funny....... Here is yet another article with clips and indiscretions of James Neal...(just so I am not targeting the"team") http://thehockeywriters.com/making-sense-james-neal-become-one-dirtiest-players-nhl/
  13. @brelic I wonder why they recalled McGinn instead of Vandevelde. McGinn has more goals scored but is a -20. Vandevelde is a +1. I am not a McGinn hater but shouldn't you bring up a guy who is defensively responsible to fill a 3rd or 4th line spot?
  14. The proper term for that is a "NASA Salute".....as long as you follow it with the shrugged shoulders and simultaneously roll your eyes back in your head....
  15. LOL...you know darn well who that shot was aimed at. I will amend my post just a little to prevent any further misunderstanding.
  16. As long as the Lightning are not playing the Flyers, I root for them. Being from Pa originally and a Flyers fan all my life, it is hard to change teams even though I have lived in Florida for the last 25 plus years. My other second favorite team is whoever is playing the Pens.
  17. Personally, I would move Niemi and Stalock up to top billing and I would give the Pens credit for Vokoun and the work he did last year(or until injury). Lundqvist seems to play so many games that it is hard to consider that a tandem. Kind of like Broduer was in his earlier prime.
  18. Funny...A mustache joke coming from a fan of a team whose own captain can't even grow one....(mustache that is).... Thanks for pointing that out so I could correct any misunderstandings polaris922
  19. He actually knows where to find AMac and how to play off of his position. Seriously, MacDonald actually plays like a defenseman, not a free wheeling, looking to score forward who cares not for defense(Mez). That to me is the absolute biggest difference.
  20. I am going with AMac and Schenn. Schenn definitely gets most improved defensive player since the Olympic break.
  21. I am going to throw some credit the defense's way myself although Mason and Raffl were both excellent.. Man have they looked different since Mez's departure. They actually play defense! Who knew?
  22. Exactly. That was my point. Him not missing much more than maybe a shift says he may have emoted just a tad.......still not a maneuver I care witness happening to anybody.
  23. but you can't give me that "oh he embellished it" BS. I most certainly can and he most certainly did...........If that was a direct shot(full power) to the jewels, he would not have been able to get up off the ice and skate to the bench as quick as he did. I said in an earlier post he can openered the helmet off of Legwand's head which he did. I said nothing about contact to the head itself. Sound fair?
  24. I think Legwand was pissed about having his helmet can opener'd off by Malkin's stick and decided to thank him for it. Classless Crosby-esque move (the stick to the junk that is) that Malkin made sure looked evil(not that it takes much to exaggerate when you get hit there). I didn't see the game but if Malkin did not miss more than a shift or 2 then no suspension should be warranted.
