  1. In my opinion , if the Wild organization is smart enough, I believe that Bruce Boudreau still will remain as a head coach for the team next season. It is not his fault at all that the team was not able to score enough goals. He tried many pairs during the season and was using what he had available. I do not see too many options to find another smart coach. Kind of a lack of them in NHL. I am not sure if the previous Chicago coach is good enough anymore for us. And I do not want to see or Yeo, or Richards or similar to them here again. Hope, they will sign Panarin and Bobrovsky this summer and hope they will not sign 4-5 oldish unproductive cheap players like they did last summer. Dubnyk could be a backup goalie if he wants to stay here. If not then young Kahkonen is an option as a backup goalie. Really want to see younger developing team than we had last season with more freedom to be offensively Wild. After this frustrating season changes are evident towards the offensive style of the team. It seems similar problems having the farm club too- not able to score when is crucial necessary.
  2. Iowa Wild team recorded its 6th losing game streak yesterday. They lost against Tucson in regulation with a score 4:5 on home ice. Menell recorded his 40th assist and Rau his 27th goal(18th PP goal). Tonight it should be a must win game. All they need to win at least 3-4 more games to feel better. No way to lose it again. Enough losing second year in a row at the end of the season. I am surprise that they did not replaced goalie during the game in case if a goalie(Hammond in that game)was losing 4 goals in about 7 minutes period. And that scenario is happened few times recently for both goalies. I am surprised also that they did not call for Motte’s help who seemed was losing less goals than both current goalies at this moment. Maybe there is too much pressure for them to make a playoffs this season. Not sure. I have feelings if they will not make a playoffs this year then their current coach will be fired as they did with the previous coach at the end of the season last year.
  3. Sad news continuing. Just finished listening a game between Iowa Wild and Texas Stars(final score is 1:4). It’s our 5th loss in a row (and a 3rd loss in a row on home ice). One single goal was able to put Dmitry Sokolov who is having so far 30 points (16 goals;14 assists) in 57 played games.
  4. I am more worry now about our farm club for making a playoffs this season for the first time. They lost 4 games in a row already. Just do not want to see same repeated scenario as last year when the team lost most of the games in March and April after having a nice chance to get a playoffs spot but did not make it.
  5. As more Russian players we will have as better selection we could make and as more interesting team we could build. I believe those 3 current and signed one (Lodnia, Sokolov, Khovanov) will have a better support and communication if they play next to each other. Like Washington, Dallas, Tampa, St. Louis have 2-3 Russian players in the team, which are pretty competitive to other NHL teams. Let's bring some optimism to the future of the Wild organization, because so far is too depressing to see our team's leapfrogs this season especially on home ice. In my opinion, diversity of players has more benefits for the team than without it. Hope team's management understand that better than in previous 18 years. Some other promising recent stats , according to the last news from Iowa, yesterday our "goaltender Kaapo Kahkonen (24 saves) earned his sixth shutout of the season in the contest, tying Syracuse’s Connor Ingram for most in the AHL".
  6. Those such a great news! Actually Alexander Khovanov is a 3rd signed promising prospect with Russian roots. The first one was Lodnia (born in United States but with Ukrainian/Russian roots through his parents), then was Dmitry Sokolov signed last year (he is in our farm club already). Hope, we will see some interesting chemistry, more creativity and more production if they will play together. Unfortunately, still remain unsigned with us Kirill Kaprizov. Hope he will be signed in 2020. I am still thinking that he would like to win first a Gagarin Cup, before he will settle in NHL in the Wild team of Minnesota. Many Russian players dreaming to get a Gagarin Cup during their career. So far CSKA team from Moscow(Kaprizov is playing there) having a lead in games(3:1) over Dynamo Moscow in Western Conference playoffs semifinals. Our other prospect from that team Andrei Svetlakov also having unsigned status with us. Interesting fact, that their CSKA goaltender Iliya Sorokin who was drafted by New York Islanders, I think, had about 10-11 shutouts during the regular season and 2 so far during playoffs series.
  7. Agreed again Lynxrattle about your deep understanding. The team practically is the fan base, and I would say with a wide diversity of fans opinions regarding success, problems, troubles of the team. I know for many hockey teams in US and Canada as well as for many teams in KHL and Europe the fan base is enormously huge including multiple generations of families in it. Exactly like you said "the fans can and should go on for generations".
  8. Another nice win tonight for the Iowa Wild team with a score 6:3 against Rampage. Team was able to put 5 PP goals out of 8 PP which is a franchise record in Iowa Wild history. Defenseman Brenan Menell repeated his record again by having 5 assists during the game. Sam Anas had multi-point game too - 2 goals and 2 assists as well as Call O’Reilley had 3 assists and Gerald Mayhew had 2 goals.Kyle Ray put 1 goal also and having total 23 goals already this season.
  9. Iowa Wild club won tonight over San Antonio Rampage with a score 4:1. Kyle Rau had a multi-point game - 2 goals and 1 assist. So far this season he has the most goals for the team. In 55 played games having 22 goals and 21 assists (43 points). The most impressive part out of him – he has 15 PP goals; and 165 shots on goal already.
  10. I found a couple more in Iowa Wild team: RW,right shoot -Matt Read in 51 games having 31 points (15 goals;16 assists; +/- -7); -Will Bitten in 49 games - 19 points(7 goals;12 assists; +/- 0). Bitten just put one goal against San Antonio Rampage. After 2 periods we are leading 2:1. I am listening that game now through the 1460 KXNO channel on Internet. It seems our team in Iowa is pretty productive from the right side this season. Wish to see some day similar production from the right side in a big club too.
  11. in Iowa Wild system this season: RW, right shoot - - Mayhew in 57 games - 45 points(20 goals;25 assists; +/- +14); -Sam Anas in 45 games - 27 points(11 goals;16 assists; +/- -7); Center;right shoot- -Fitzgerald in 45 games- 19 points(12 goals;7 assists; +/- +5); -McLain in 46 games - 17 points (9 goals;8 assists; +/- -4)
  12. After Connor Dewar our second promising prospect Alexander Khovanov improved a lot his stats this season too. Alexander is playing 2 seasons already for Moncton Wildcats. Talented sniper having so far in 61 games 70 points (24 goals;46 assists;+/- +9). He is still having unsigned status with us. Wish that the Wild organization will sign him also as soon as possible. And Kirill Kaprizov nicely improved his scoring stats this season also - in 57 played games of the regular KHL season had 51 points( 30 goals and 21 assists; +/- +34).
  13. Final score 1:4 tonight against 1st team in our Central Division Chicago Wolves. Grand Rapids Griffins are 2nd and we are holding a 3rd place in our Division.
  14. Iowa Wild team is playing now a very tough game on a road against a strong Chicago Wolves team . Score so far is 0:3 during second period.
  15. Thanks LIG, Those are the best news for me. Dewar's talent in production is really merit our attention as a very promising prospect for our team.
  16. Last night game finally gave us a win in regulation against Ontario with a score 5:4. Our team was able to put 45 shots towards Ontario net and also to put 4 out of 6 PP goals. Brennan Menell (our defenseman ) was a star in that game too by having 5 assists, which is a rare achievement. In 53 games so far this season Brennan having 2 goals and 30 assists,+/- +13.
  17. Agree LIG, about those bad news. The Wild was able to beat one of the best team in a league and next day to lose to the worst team. It was nice for Rau to have a hat trick and for Kahkonen to stop 49 shots out of 54, but the sad part the Iowa Wild team is still not able to beat Ontario team during the season(our records are 0-2-2-0) and let them to put 54 shots towards our net and the other sad part of that game we were able to lose 3 unanswered goals in a last 3 minutes of the regulation and no one was able to step up in helping during that crucial time . Hope tonight game against Ontario team will give us a better result.
  18. Good news!!! We stopped Condors 17 games winning steak yesterday by shutout win 1:0 on their home ice. Sokolov put a single PP winning goal in their net. Fitzgerald and Belpedio assisted to that goal. Condors put almost a double shots towards our net (30 vs 16). Hammond was our goalie to protect Wild's net in a shutout. Interesting that we just repeat that score in regulation since 2014 in Iowa Wild history.
  19. Regarding a 3 games streak which ended yesterday against Barracuda, we went 1-1-1. Some notes from the Iowa Wild site. Iowa continues its season-high six-game road trip with a contest Friday night against the Bakersfield Condors, who currently have the longest active winning streak in the AHL at 17 games. Puck drop is at 9:00 p.m. CT and can be streamed for free on Facebook Watch as the AHL’s Game of the Week. Here is a nice link to read about the importance of the next 20 games for the Iowa Wild team. Last year we did not finish well our season there and sadly missed the playoffs: https://www.iowawild.com/news/detail/the-wild-wire-19
  20. I am impressed so far about the progress of our prospect Connor Dewar stats who is playing for Everett Silvertips team for 4 seasons. Last season he put 38 goals and made 30 assists in 68 games (+/- + 23). In 22 playoff games last year he had 12 goals;14 assists;+/- +24 as well as he also was an alternate captain. This season he is a captain and put 34 goals and made 39 assists;+/- +22 (73 points) in 52 games already. Wish that the Wild organization will sign him as soon as possible. He still is having unsigned status for us.
  21. Iowa Wild team won the 1st (out of 3) game yesterday in regulation against Barracuda (4:3) and have got a record - the most game wins (19) in one season at the home ice in their history. Kapla, O'Reilly, Sokolov and Rau all had multi-point game last night. Kahkonen was in the net. Tonight is a 2nd game in Iowa against San Jose. Again, it is not an easy Barracuda team to play against. Hope we will repeat our success.
  22. Next 3 games(Thursday(home), Friday(home), Tuesday(away)) Iowa Wild team is playing against San Jose Barracuda. That team is not an easy one to beat which lost less games (12 games) in regulation than any other teams in AHL and taking the second place in their Pacific Division as well as we are at the second place in Central.
  23. Now Carolina team in my mind too, especially I am paying more attention to Hurricanes after the Nino's trade from the Wild. Definitely, the team has good potential. Last night the team had a shutout 4:0 against Pittsburgh - their goaltending was outstanding despite a solid Penguins pressure. Nino had 1 assist in that game. And Svechnikov put a pretty important goal also.
  24. Sounds very impressive results. Both teams having the most points in their leagues (70 and 69 respectively). It seems now is a time for the big club also to show their ability to get a playoffs spot this season. I think they are capable of that effort. 9 years already without playoffs seasons is a pretty long drought.
  25. Both our Wild clubs having their games tonight at 7 p.m. Iowa Wild is playing a road game against Texas Stars, which is a 9-0-0-1 in its last 10 games on their home ice. Hope our team will break that record. Each our teams need 2 points(wins) out of tonight games.WIll see if we will have this evening a double celebration or a double frustration. https://www.iowawild.com/news/detail/game-preview-iowa-wild-vs-texas-stars-1
