  1. The other thing I don't understand is why they think they need to be right in front of the goalie. I understand screening the goalie, but 6' to 10 feet out from the goalie would be a lot easier to get the puck higher. I would also like to know what the scoring percentage is for taking a shot halfway between the blue line and the faceoff circle vs a shot from the blue line.
  2. I don’t understand why shooters aren’t try for the top half of the net on most of their shots. Goalies always drop to the butterfly on the shot, and if a puck is tipped it usually goes down from the loss of speed. I asked a goalie friend of mine which shot gave him the most trouble. High on the stick side.
  3. With as bad as we are at 2 on 1 why don't they try a trailer type play
  4. Yeah, practice what doesn't work, that way they will be really good at running a pp that doesn't work. If you don't succeed, practice and try the same thing that doesn't work.
  5. I can’t get there pp. I watch teams with good pp’s and think, why don’t we try some of the things they do? Same pp that doesn’t work, rinse/repeat. Insanity
  6. Well if they play bad they have the instant excuse of too many days off. There is no reason for them to have a bad game.
  7. That's not good, I thought it went by games played per season.
  8. In the Toronto game the leafs pp had 4 guys below the face off circles. Wild usually have 3 above. Don't they know scoring is easier close to the net?
  9. I wish they would drop this and have the all-star game in this format instead.
  10. Hartman became the d man when he switched places with dumba on the scissors cycle. hartman froze and got caught flat footed trying to skate backwards.
  11. No. The blame for that goal was all on Hartman. He was covering for dumba who was down low. When ny got the puck he stood there like he couldn’t remember how to skate backwards. Then when the play went past him he chased his man to wall instead of dropping back. The highlight reel doesn’t show everything.
  12. But, will he or the team realize that he is not indispensable?
  13. I’m curious to see if when mikko returns will he lay back when we enter the zone, as he has been prone to do, or will he support the attack as his replacements have been doing. Will he realize that he is not indispensable?
  14. Under the wilds reasoning the wild should win this game as it is the 2nd of a back to back for calgary.
  15. Well I think suter/ spurgeon is the best pairing. Dumba needs someone who can cover for him if needed. I wonder if suter doesn’t tell dumba “ you’re on your own if you f up”
  16. I think part of Dumba's problem is he is playing with Either. For some reason he and Suter do not work well with each other. I can't quantify it, it just seems to be something I noticed. A day or two in the pressbox would probably help a lot of players.
  17. You know soucy is playing well when you rest easy watching him play and cringe when dumba and suter step on the ice.
  18. On the positive side, soucy had another good game, donato was ok at center, needs to improve faceoff, and mennel was not bad. I was impressed with his first game in nhl. Lot of room for improvement, but not bad.
  19. Spurgeon will always be missed until they come up with another right hander that can do more than defend, but he is not why they lost. They lost, and will probably keep losing, to teams that are quick to attack the puck carrier. This team really seems to get rattled by teams that are quick to change direction.
  20. I didn't get to see the whole game, but from what I saw a good win. I didn't get to see the whole game of Nashville vs Tampa, but there was quite a difference in play and skill. Hopefully I will see the day when the wild have that type of play.
